MashaAllah it's a very huge mosque with lots of parking available, with excellent management that help me in every way the can. Before the mosque didn't have English qudbas on Fridays but now they do. They renovated the prayer area which now it looks like a pretty mosque. MashaAllah Jamia served my family and said they serve iftarie everyday with a full serving of food for everyone with no charge. Personally I really enjoy praying in this mosque from now and inshaAllah I will continue. Thank you
Things are changing at this masjid. They have english friday speeches now by eloquent speakers mashallah. Also a weekly tafsir class on Saturdays after maghrib in english. Pleasant and spacious masjid with young scholars entering the fold it seems.
This masjid is heavily infiltrated by the tableeghi jamaat bidda and the masjid is narrow minded towards other cultures/communties and only welcoming to the indian/pakistani community, mainly of the old generation. There is barely any english or even arabic spoken at this masjid and its lectures. Its heavily cultural and sufi influenced. I was once there and they turned the lights off and did some weird crying shouting dhikr. Also, the management plays alot of politics and gives a very suspicious feel to the masjid. Stay away if all you want to do is practice your deen. I suggest masjid Al-farooq near mavis and eglinton, their upon simple quran and sunnah and welcome all cultures, sexes and ages especially the younger generation.
Maulana Qasmi, the owner of this warehouse is known for his scams. He has been taking money from community members for generations talking about how he's going to build a proper masjid only to go overseas for 1/2-1 year vacation. Definitely avoid. Also they treat women terribly.
Jamia Islamia is a large warehouse building close to the busy Dundas/Hurantario intersection in Mississauga. Its a little hard to find being in an industrial park drive out of the way. It has two Juma Khutbas and has a decidedly desi feel to it. Maulana Sahib speak eloquent urdu every Friday and wear this huge quaid-e-Azam style topee (cap). Large space and separate women's area. Plenty of parking.
