Al-Wilaya Islamic Centre

By far the best Shia Islamic Centre in Hamilton given the breadth, content and coverage of programs and services it offers to various segments of its congregation be it men, women, youth or children. The array of programs on offer at the centre is indeed impressive catering to the spiritual, linguistic, cultural and physical development of the community it serves. By offering among others Summer Camps for the youth the Centre appears to have successfully tried to integrate youth into its programming and making them take ownership and be future leaders. It may be time for the Centre to take it further by developing a mentoring program for youth especially those attending or getting ready to attend high school and help maximum number of youth to get into colleges and universities while being exposed to a healthy spiritual environment on offer through the Centre's multifaceted activities. One suggestion that I have for the Centre's website is that it is never easy or almost impossible to find important announcements. There should be a dedicated icon for announcements. Great job al-Wilayah - keep it up! The Centre is truly a role model for other Shia Islamic Centres to emulate.
