Average Musallah with average jummah and khutbah. Must have a Harvard ID to get in.
Though the musallah isn't anything to necessarily shout about (and is only available to Harvard ID holders) the Harvard Islamic Society has great programs and a friendly, open community. The jumaa khutbas are engaging and inspiring, the hadith and Qur'an classes are well-taught and well-attended, and one doesn't have to be at Harvard, or even a college student, to attend.
Not much to say about this musallah - it's quiet. No real decoration. Men and women pray in the same small space. Since it is quiet and the lights are often out it can be a good place for focused prayer or reading of the Qur'an. You do need an access card to get in - but people are constantly in and out of the building so if you need somewhere to pray and are in the area just wait until someone comes along and holds the gate and doors for you. Nearby bathrooms are nice and are clean.
The musallah is usually empty, but Jumah attracts a good number of people, both Harvard and non-Harvard affiliates. The musallah requires a Harvard ID to access.
