Masha'Allah, beautiful masjid and location, right next to the ASU (Arizona State University) so majority of congregation are students. they also perform funeral services. Parking is limited.
This masjid has been Arab dominated in the past but is wonderfully multicultural and family/youth oriented. The masjid does alot of outreach to the community and this is definitely one of the best masjids for converts and for women to attend.
Beautiful masjid, easy to find. Everything clean and in good repair. It is nice that the sisters can be in same room only behind curtain. Treated very well by everyone we met there.
A very beautifully designed masjid in a busy section of Tempe. Parking can be a problem when university is in session. Always open for all salat and on the weekends for halaqa, always clean and accessible. Sisters previously prayed in a small conference room but now pray in the main musallah behind a thin lace curtain with ample room, lots of sunlight and the ability to view the imam. Equal access to classes for women and all races/cultures. Young scholars are really encouraged to teach. Some racism on behalf of a minority of the governing board, but the community in general can be warm. Women hold leadership positions on the governing board. Lots of community events and outings. Very student and child friendly. Adjacent to Phoenix Metro Islamic School.
