Review from an outsider visiting town: Clean, organized, ample prayer space. Food available to purchase after Jummah.
Small womens prayer room. Together with a school. Bathroom for women is dirty.
Adel Rd. North Zone is the typical stagnant houston mosque. there is little activity, the mosque is dirty with inadequate accomodation for women. The khutbas albeit well-intentioned are off-topic, without regard for time, and not in any sense pragmatic. The community is mainly south asian, but with an earnest and sincere Azhari resident imam, and various indonesian, black american, and arab worshippers. there is an attached school, and a weekend islamic school, but youth activity is highly limited. the parking situation during Jum'ua is disasterous. there is only one jum'ua service at variant times during the year. Activity during Ramadan is heightened. A large community with a prayer area for many, a covered basketbakk court doubles as a (rather blase and ill-kept) community hall rented out for occasions.
