My two children have a combined 8 years of education at Orange Crescent. This school provides a good basic education in an Islamic environment, at a tuition rate that is nearly half the cost of similar institutions in California. Being on the same grounds as the Islamic Society of Orange County allows easy access for students to perform prayers in the masjid. Middle school students here consistently do very well in the Orange County Science and Engineering Fair, and in 2012 even won the prestigious Junior division School Award! Other competitions OCS students consistently do well at: the Academic Pentathalon, Spelling Bee, and debates. Starting in the 4th grade, girls are required to wear hijab as part of the uniform. Parent participation is encouraged in this closely knit community, as there is a lot of fundraising to be done to support all the activities that can't be covered by the relatively low tuition.
