★★★★★ I would highly recommend this place to people who love to have Halal food that comes with a nice twist. This is a very unique restaurant that has choices I have not found anywhere in the Dallas metroplex or anywhere else for that matter.
I have been here many times and have tried all their Samosa's which they are so famous for. This is not your mom and pop traditional samosa place. They have unique flavors like Thai chicken, Jerk chicken, beef, Pizza flavor and lot more I can't even remember that come with a platter.I tried their Vindallo Curry but it was a bit too hot to handle. I also like their Peri Peri Cornish Hen which is deep fried and crunchy to the core and their grilled platter except the beef mishkaki which is a bit too chewy for my liking.
Other then that the best thing I've had here is their Samosa Sundae deserts. Yes that's right they manage to add samosas to dessert and make them taste out of this world.
I am not a fan of their location because being so far inside Irving it's difficult to find this place or go regularly. Also their ambiance is great but sometimes the smoke from the kitchen gets in the seating area. You have to order everything beforehand on the counter and then wait for them to serve it on the table.
This place is a must on any adventurous Halal eaters list. Posted on September 2, 2013 |

★★★★★ wow, what a great experience, the service, ambience & food. everything was phenomenal, its not your full service restaurant, you order, get your own cutlery and sit down and pay after you finish eating, first time there by accident but wont hesitate going again. ordered some beef on sticks, ribs. I was not sure about Halal authenticity but the owner showed me invoices & certificate from US Halal foods (which was infact for the same day). Brilliant fusion, nothing is typical desi so dont keep your hopes high if you wanna be full fledge desi, very different menu but everything we ordered was better then the other. Also for the first time in my life I had chocolate samosas . yep chocolate samosas enough said. Posted on April 9, 2013 |

★★★★★ I really enjoyed this place. The food is delicious with multiple varieties of samosas and the service was above and beyond friendly. I ordered chicken tikka which came with rice and naan in addition to beef and potato samosas. Posted on January 29, 2019 |

★★★★☆ Our first time here. The young lady who assisted us was incredibly sweet and very helpful. The kabob's were exquisite; possibly the best I've had in the DFW area. The Tikka was well made, but surprisingly sweet. Not to my wife's liking. We both were exceedingly pleased and somewhat overwhelmed with the massive order of Poutine. We had a wonderful cup of Chai. To round it all out we had the Fried Apple Samosa Sundae -- sorry, no picture.
Simply fantastic! We'll definitely be back again -- In Shaa' Allaah. One of the best Halaal discoveries we've made. Posted on January 25, 2019 |

★☆☆☆☆ We ordered several items including chicken tikka. The chicken tasted stale. The person took it to the kitchen, then returned saying that they can take it back and that we can order something else, which we did. However, they still added the returned item to the final bill because we had tasted it!
Quality of food and customer service has gone down over the last year. Posted on May 26, 2016 |

Believe me if an indian guy says they were spicy u know what would be the level.. Might be for 6 people..safe order is to get beef mishkaki , hut wings..and chocolate samosa..are the best...all the best.. Posted on January 9, 2014 |

★★★★★ This place has some very best halal food. If you love desi food with new twist, you should definitely try this place. My all-time favorites are Chicken tikka masala, peri peri wings, Beef sliders, Mishkaki Beefs, Chicken Tikka. Highly Recommend this place. I wish they had one in San Jose Bay Area. ★☆☆☆☆ We tried this place-- fish was dry and bland; chicken was over fried and very tough, daal makhni looked like someone had partially boiled (not fully cooked) the daal and added it to some pink liquid, naan was literally BURNED!! It seemed like someone put freezer burned frozen Deep naans on the griddle and burned them and served them. The place is extremely run down- when you enter, you'll see and ALL of the food we ordered was TERRIBLE. I'm sorry but that was our experience. I would never go back and walked out wondering why this place was still in business. There are soooo many great places in Dallas to go to instead. Posted on March 11, 2013 |

★★★★★ Ordered an appetizer platter. It was more than enough for 3-4 people. Very spicy though! Samosas, pakoras and kebabs were pretty good, decent dipping sauces too. Posted on February 1, 2013 |

NR great place to eat but little over price... Posted on December 3, 2012 |

★★★★★ An alternative to the typically greasy food. Healthy and flavorful food, friendly staff, reasonable prices and good selection. Haven't had one thing here that i disliked. If you have not been here, give it a try. Posted on December 2, 2012 |

★★★★★ UPDATE Sep 2012: Tried the chicken tandoori burrito which was also pretty good but it would have been better with more chicken and less rice. The Masala fries are ok.
July 2012 It's pretty ironic that the 3 different samosas I tried just happened to not be tasty and way over priced for the size. I did however enjoy the mixed grill. The beef mishkaki is to die for and I like all of the meats. Will definitely be coming back here again. Posted on September 5, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ Did not like the samosas at all, didnt taste fresh. The only thing i liked was their kabab roll. Ther cornish hen was PATHETIC. Portion size is also small. Wont return. Posted on August 10, 2012 |

★★★★★ Amazing food and very nice decor. We were in Dallas for only 1 day but ate here two times. Their kabab platter, jerk sandwiches, chocolate samosa sundae, etc. everything is authentic and great tasting. Highly recommended, especially if you are burned out from eating desi food all the time... Posted on July 23, 2012 |

★★★★★ Samosa Hut offers something different... and its awesome. It's not straight up desi food which is refreshing. The samosas are very unique- I haven't experienced anything like this elsewhere. Plus, you get unlimited sodas when you eat there. Highly recommended. Posted on May 22, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Had their beef ribs and signature rice. Both very good and they gave good portions. Want to try their other dishes as well. Posted on April 23, 2012 |

★★★★★ Highly recommend samosa hut and grill. It has very good service and the restaurant has a very good vibe. Must try their peri peri chicken and samosas. Posted on April 16, 2012 |

★★★★★ I have been here a many times ... It's actually one the first restaurants I went to after moving to Dallas... I am from NY and good Halal food is hard to find here.
This place is really nice very inviting and friendly the owners are great and are personally there every time I have been there.
The food is great, good flavor and large portions... I have had about 10 items from the menu and loved every single one. The prices are great also.
My biggest issue with halal places is cleanliness... I don't want to eat in a dirty, messy, cluttered restaurant. BUT this place is very clean.
I urge everyone to try it out at-least once .. You will want to go back without a doubt.
My suggestions: the meat platter (wow really good) and the coconut chutney with the jerk chicken somosa is a must, let's see their wings are great... I am not a big ribs person but I hear great stuff about them. Try the wings also ..
Hope you enjoy the food as much as I do
To the owners .. Thank you for keeping a clean place .. Lol which for some reason its really hard to find in a halal place Posted on October 2, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Earlier in the day we were in Irving, tried this place for the first time, had tandoori chicken & jerk chicken sandwich respectively, both were AWESOME!!! Chicken was nicely marinated, serving size was decent, place was clean & the staff was friendly. Posted on April 19, 2011 |

★★★★★ Even though they definitely need a little face lift inside the restaurant, the food is simply brilliant, the staff is extremely courteous and the pricing extremely affordable.
We were a big group converging from Chicago and Dallas after word of mouth about this restaurant and boy did they do well, the girl who took our order was extremely knowledgeable even though she surely was not desi when I heard her speaking spanish. She recommended ways to save money instead of us to spend more and wasting food (extremely happy about it) the food arrived was extra ordinary, we ordered beef, chicken and cheese samosas and we ordered another plate because they flew off the plates. The main course had different curries and grill platters which were just perfect. I am not sure what to talk about or trying to find a negative point will not be true to the feeling we had after finishing the food.
It definitely is a little hidden gem. Highly Highly recommended, try the tikka masala, and any grill item and you will not be disappointed.
Will 110% be back and will bring more people.

★★★★★ We stopped here a few monthes ago on a road trip to Dallas. Both my wife and I LOVED the food and wanted to go back a 2nd time but we didnt have time unfortunatly. Im not sure whether its real Desi food or not and frankly i dont care. The food tasted great and was fairly priced... I spoke to someone there for about 15 mins and was sure of the meat being halal. ★★☆☆☆ I am not impress with the place and the food. not sure it was a Sunday feeling, where no one was in the restaurant. the minute we enter the restaurant, there was unpleasant smell, lights were dimmer than any regular good restaurant, carpet has lot of stain, Nasty!. we order a mix and match samosa. Samosas were hard crispy, seems like fried twice. one person was the server and taking orders. no doubt he was quiet courteous. there were only two families before us and i was told they were out of Glass Glasses, my son was served Lassi in a plastic glass, normally use for Sodas. my skew order was little burned from outside.nd was served by coleslaw salad, dosent fit my taste. my rating is on base on the service and food serve and it did impacted my customer experience. ★★★☆☆ If you are looking for something non-desi and feel like trying a mix-match of cuisines; try this place. I'll rate food 3-stars in flavor; however with a nice ambiance. They can do better. I liked their chicken tikka and chicken chilli. Posted on March 25, 2011 |

★★★★★ We took a friend who was visiting from out of town here and it was our first time as well and we weren't disappointed at all. The food was fabulous and I can't wait to go again and try the other menu items.
So we had the Jalapeno and Cheese Bombers Samosas for the appetizer and they were really good. For the entree we had the Samosa Hut Meat Platter #1 which consisted of kabob, Beef ribs, Chicken Tikka and Beef Mishkaki, rice, naan, chutneys and cassava fries. For dessert we had the Dallas Cheesecake Samosa Sundae. Everything was very delicious and the dessert was extra yummy. I can't wait to go again and try more things..... Absolutely loved it. NR I just returned from having dinner at this location. The Beef Mishkaki I ordered was good but the sma cannot be said for the Mango Lassi - it was gross. Fortunately they only filled 2/3 of the cup, so I did not have to waste a lot.
Also, whilst I was eating, two of the staff members got into an argument & the one used profenity against the other without consideration of the patrons.
I have an uneasy feeling about the the halal authencity as well. A staff member did assure me that everything is halal, however the decor in the restaurant is very Hindu-like with the many statues placed all over. There was no evidence of anything Muslim in the restaurant. Posted on November 7, 2010 |
Hello Lovehalaal
Thank you for stopping by and sharing your experience at our location. We do not serve Mango Lassi, the one you ordered must be Mango Shake, and there is a difference between Mango Lassi and Mango Shake. About 2/3 Cup, our standared size of serving is 12 oz and you were drinking lassi in 16OZ cup.
About Halal authencity, we are 100% halal all our meat are halal everyday. All our meat vendors offer halal food, yes we have decoration of different things as we dont think there is anything related to art and halal.
Thank you for your comment. Hope we have clarified your questions. |

★★★★☆ Really enjoyed eating at this place. I recommend the meat platter and chilli chicken. Well seasoned and tasty. The CTM was average. Order a variety of samosas especially the Jalapeno bomber samosa! Overall the service was friendly and prompt, the prices are reasonable, 4 adults ate for $40. Decor is nice, clean, and suitable for kids too. Posted on November 3, 2010 |

★★★★★ My husband are sitting in the Samosa Hut and Grill right now and had to write this review. Mashallah the food was so great! It's a great mix of traditional favorites like chicken tikka masala, with new items like curry slider burgers and spiced bbq ribs. Gotta agree with the other reviewers that their Beef Mishkaki is a must try. If you miss steak since going halali, or always wished people made steak with a desi twist, beef mishkaki is what you have been dreaming of!
Just tried their new dessert of cheesecake samosa sundae - excellent! And they give A LOT of ice cream. Add them on facebook and you might get some free gulab jaman out of it. Great atmosphere too, very modern, but the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Also should mention all the staff are great, the owner is a really friendly guy. Definitely check this place out! ★★★★★ This place might be the best zabihah in all of irving. We got the bakers dozen for samosas and all of them were excellent. The best dish in my opinion is the beef mishaki..really tender and a lot of flavor! The short ribs are also very good. The restaurant also has really nice ambiance! Will definitely come back! ★★★★★ I was invited for a lunch at Samosa Hut and I was really surprised at the quality and taste of the food. I am visiting Dallas from Toronto and this restaurant will stand out even in Toronto where we have fantastic Halal food restaurants. I and my wife even went again for dinner by ourselves. Great place to eat if you are visiting Dallas. Posted on July 9, 2010 |

★★★★★ Samosa Hut is a fairly new establishment in the DFW Desi/Indo-Pak food landscape. It's been open for a few months, and is somewhat of a hidden gem.
It's located in a part of Irving that I personally haven't travelled to often - but for those of you that live in the area, it's an extremely convenient location.
I happen to have the pleasure of knowing the owner, and am saddened that it took me nearly 5 months to drive out there! Why? Well, it's great - it puts a new twist on desi cuisine, and it's different that most of the indian/pakistani/bengali places we are used to.
What makes it different you ask? Beef Mishkaki! What is Beef Mishkaki you ask? Well, it's basically Beef Tikka or Beef Boti - but the word Mishkaki is the Swahili word for Tikka/Boti. Their food is desi, but East African desi - which makes it unique and differentiates it from all other local desi places. The meat is extremely tender - melts in your mouth. The plate comes with masala fries and coleslaw. It's greatness, I'm getting hungry writing this review..
We also had the chicken tikka masala - good stuff. The green sauce (chutney) you get at traditional places was even different here - it had cocunut shavings! Interesting touch.
Lastly, you MUST try the samosas! They have a wide variety of samosas - chicken jerk samosa! Jalapeno bomber samosa!! Just to name a couple - they have about 8 or so different types of samosas.
Also - the decor is welcoming, it's not too large of a location, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Posted on May 2, 2010 |
