1901 Abrams Parkway, Dallas, TX 75214
The Chanaa brothers, Adam and Jalal, first hit the Dallas restaurant scene in the early 90's, opening their first Ali Baba Mediterranean Grill concept on Lower Greenville. They quickly expanded to three locations and 20 years later, Ali Baba is still an iconic stop for locals and tourists alike. The restaurants have won numerous awards, but most importantly, the favor of local consumers who appreciate fresh, healthy and flavorful Mediterranean cuisine. Terra Mediterranean Grill is the Channa brothers newest Mediterranean concept in Ft. Worth at West 7th and soon to be in Austin. Added on March 11, 2004 and last updated 6 years ago

NR I'm very concerned about the halal confirmation here at Ali Baba. Staffs are not Muslim and hence their verbal confirmation is questionable. Did anyone contact the owner about it and does anyone know if the owner is Muslim.
Zabihah do you have the updated information? Posted on October 5, 2012 |
We do not - can other customers confirm the Halal status for us? |

★☆☆☆☆ Someone took us to eat at Alibaba. We fell in the trap after asking the waiter if the food was halal. We were told it was. Later we met other people from the area & they mentioned that the food is not Zabihah. I called the place last week & insisted to speak to the manager/owner. I asked if the meat was Zabihah & I was told it was NOT.
Please beware if you eat Zabihah only as this place does NOT serve that. They have 3 locations at Dallas, Richardson & Irving under the same management.
Please also check the menu on their website: alibabamedgrill.com
Saffron Chicken is served with white wine sauce, Lamb is imported from New Zealand. They mention all poultry & meat is 100% natural (NOT Zabihah!)
Zabihah-eaters should avoid meat/chicken at this place & not fall in the trap. Veggie appetizers & fish is really good. I have given it one star as they give false impression to the customers that they serve halal. Posted on March 1, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ Food seemed good...but my wife threw up for a full day after eating the Kabobs. I had also had upset stomach. Would not recommend. Also very expensive. Fadi's is much better alternative. Posted on July 16, 2008 |

NR average food? what!! that is blasphemy - they have some of the BEST food - there are multiple locations. irving (las colinas) and richardson. Their buffet is unbelieveable....sunday brunch is awesome is well. it's clean, new, and the service is immaculate. i just wish they were open longer.
they charge 15 dollars for a buffet on sunday, and it's worth every penny of it!
their platters are scrumptious and like none other when it comes to the meditteranean fares available in dfw.
infact, this place is my kabob favorite place of 2007-8. Posted on February 13, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ average hummus, good kafta kebob & excellent falafel.
Alcohol served. Posted on June 17, 2007 |

★★★☆☆ The chicken and beef kebobs with the rice and hummus appetizer were all excellent. Most of the food on the menu was halal, excluding the gyros. However, I noticed that it seemed they serve alcohol at the establishment. For this reason, I wouldn't go there again! Posted on January 17, 2005 |
