Nice interior of the masjid area on the 3rd floor which is open for the women (no barrier), but I notice that unfortunately the muslims do not really help out the poor people directly outside the building. I have also seen homeless people urinating on the walls of the building. Just goes to show the all of us Muslims need to help not only ourselves, but the non-Muslims around us to make the neighborhood better.
This is a nice masjid in the heart of the city. It is located on the 3rd floor of the building.
This masjid was a huge dissapointment. First of all this masjid and three others are in the worst part of San Francisco where you can have a nice conversation with bums and crack-addicts on the way to the masjid. Secondly, my wife and I came here to pray maghrib one night and had to wait for 10min after the salaat for somebody to pick us up but we were kicked out for merely sitting next to each other in the back of prayer hall. I think they should have bigger concerns as you can see many strip clubs and people urinating on the street when you look out the windows of the musulah.
Update: this masjid has been fabulously redesigned, with a spacious prayer area with plenty of space for brothers and sisters. I am very impressed with the initiatives being championed by the leadership and see big things for this masjid. i am excited by the work they may be able to do in the Tenderloin area insha Allah.
Nice Masjid great plans for major renovations of the entire building. Volunteers are welcomed and they make you feel you belong with everyone
Some drawbacks to consider: women's bathroom could use remodeling, when door is opened by a woman entering or exiting, men who happen to be walking by to do their wudu can see in. Women's prayer area could use new carpeting. Neigborhood is full of people on drugs/alcohol.
This Mosque is an Excellent place. Open, clean, and welcoming of all people. I really like the Kutbah in English and the ability to hear difrent Imams each week.
