Reply to the brother who is frustrated because the women are separate , My dear brother if you deeply look at the islamic teachings , its full of wisdom , our prophet was wise and whatever he taught was directly from Allah according to the words of the book of the creator of the universe. Islam gave honor, respect and dignity to the women . Just check out the lives of his companions and the women of that time . The books are full of stories. So whichever masjid has this policy , they are not wrong. Masjid is a place of piety where you feel closeness to Allah . In short if you are not satisfied , you can refer to some practicing pious knowledgeable scholars. Jzk
Your experience here will depend what you're looking for. IIASA has a great and cheap intensive Arabic program, in addition to weekend classes. If you are a woman or don't speak Arabic, it may be difficult for you to communicate and get around here, since most of the activities are in Arabic and put women in a separate room, which frustrated me.
Very nice building. Knowledgable speakers. Met friendly brothers. Really enjoyed visit there.
Women do not participate except in segregated prayer space and classes. Attendance is FAIRLY diverse, but some of the women are vigilantes who monitor other women's clothes! Bo-ring.
