★☆☆☆☆ I called before I went down to confirm that it was halal, and the lady was very friendly. However, when I went to the store, it was another story. I said salaams to her twice but she just ignored me and stared at me. The store was generally dirty-looking and my husband didn't feel comfortable buying meat. We ended up not being able to buy anything because her credit card machine was down and she could only accept cash. Posted on August 18, 2015 |

★★★★★ I've tried a few butchers in Vancouver and I believe Dhaka halal meat offers the most decent price,
quality and consistency. The main reason for this is probably the amount of customers they get, so the fresh meat doesn't sit around for more then a day or two. You can also find turkeys during Thanksgiving and Christmas so if you ever wanted to try turkey that would be the best time. I've also seen whole strip loins for sale and those are great for steaks.
Pros
-Decent prices
-Good selection of meats
-Nice seasonal offerings such turkeys and BBQ cuts like strip loins and short ribs.
-also offer marinated meats and crescent brand deli meats
Cons
-Language barrier may be an issue
-Lots of customers means sometimes products are sold out. Posted on February 4, 2013 |
