★★★★★ The food is delicious, cooked with very good spices and flavors. I've eaten 2/3 of the items on the menu, and would order all of them again. Malaysian food is an exotic fusion of Indian, Chinese, and native Malay flavors. I would ignore the previous review, the clientele is very diverse, as Southern California is a diverse place. ★☆☆☆☆ Would have loved to have tried their food, but seeing the full bar, cabana styling, along with the clientele who looked as if they were tourists at a resort, kinda made me less enthusiastic, so I had to apologetically tell the hostess that I had to leave. Posted on January 24, 2015 |

NR This place is all the way in the back of the plaza. It's a hard find that's why I'm writing this. Don't bother calling the host, he doesn't know his surroundings. The directions will take you there but it's all the way in the back. I had their special, The Ayam Masek Merah, and it was good. Posted on October 9, 2014 |

★★★★★ I was sad when they closed there Torrance location as I used go there often. When in the area we found ourselves close by so we chose to visit the new location. Food and service was as good as I remember from Torrance. The owner recognized us and was very nice to us. It's a shame they are so far from us otherwise we'd be there more often. ★★★★☆ This restaurant is really nice. The modern, exotic, and tasteful ambience is very inviting. I had the Daging Merah which was very delicious! I also had chicken satay (very yummy) char kway teow noodles (just okay) and hot and sour soup (just okay). I will definitely be returning here so that I can try the variety of different foods they offer. Posted on May 27, 2013 |

NR A Muslim woman was passing thru the property this establishment is located on and was told that her dress was "not allowed here" by a security guard. She was told the police had issued her a trespass warning earlier. She denies any knowlege of any trespass warnings. We need to contact this business and tell them to complain to the property owner about this matter. I, for one, will not conduct business with ANY establisment at Enderlie Center until this unjust order by the owner is recinded as null and void. We MUST contact businesses and voice our disaproval of this order. We MUST make it very clear that we will NOT conduct business with this restaurant because of this unjust order. We do not have that many shops that cater to our dietary needs, and for even one of us to be deprived of the freedom to dine here, should anger us all! The anger is NOT with this establishment itself. It IS with the owner of the property it is located on. Posted on April 20, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ Placed a to go order. Was told that to pick it up in 25 minutes. was there in 25 minutes but had to wait a further hour and 15 minutes. Asked for the manager but he wasn't there. The hostess was rude and she didn't even apologize for the delay. Have been going there ever since it opened, but they have lost my business now Posted on May 7, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ Went to the restaurant on a Monday night - about a year ago - just remembered as I am back in the area and browsing Zabihah.com. I had a fish dish (trying to eat healthy) unfortunately I was very ill within 20 mins of the meal and ill for the next 2 days. The fish was drowning in sauce when it was served and only now I realized this may have been intentional. I almost had to cut a business trip short!
ISA this was a rare incident but it was a real disappointment after reading the reviews on Zabihah.com. I wish to promote Muslim businesses but lets strive to ensure a balance and honesty when posting comments. Posted on February 27, 2012 |

★★★★★ Excellent restaurant. Great food, excellent service and really nice decor. Probably the best halal restaurant I've been to. There is a bar in the restaurant, but halal is on the outside window and in the menu. The owner used to own the Redondo Beach location and moved the restaurant to OC. Would definately return again. ★★★★★ Salaams brothers and sisters,
Before I review this restaurant, I would like to let you know that I have been to pretty much ALL of the Malay and Indonesian/Malay restaurants in SoCal (which there aren't too many of) and this one takes the cake! :)
Here's the rundown:
SERVICE: 5/5
Excellent service. The servers were fast, courteous and extremely patient with us (as we had a baby crying his socks off and making a mess of things!!). They also knew their menu! A BIG PLUS! I was very impressed with their understanding of the ingredients and the differences in tastes of various dishes.
FOOD: 5/5
Just one word to describe: EXCELLENT!!
For the appetizers, we had the chicken/beef/lamb satay combo and roti canai. For the main course, we had Nasi Lemak (Yummy....sumptuous!!), Hokkien Mee (Deeeelicious!!), Mee Goreng, Malay Curry Chicken, Hainan Chicken, Daging Kecap Manis (Wow!! Simply Amazing) and some other shrimp item that I can't remember. All had their distinct tastes and we were thoroughly happy with the food. A++++
DECOR: 5/5
EXCELLENT!! Wow, the place looks so good. :)
The owners are so hospitable and nice that you will want to come back for more. Their food is HALAL, authentic and THE BEST Malay food that you will find in SoCal period. Posted on August 9, 2011 |

★★★★★ This place is amazing! The food is great, and the atmosphere and service is what you would expect from a nice restaurant. I was really surprised by the variety. It all tasted consistently good. Like it says, they do serve Alcohol, but the bar is far on the right so, if you prefer, ask to be seated to the left. Pricing was a what you would expect from that type of restaurant ($15-$20). They have a green creme brule dessert that my wife seems to love, but I never really liked creme brule, so I couldn't say. Posted on May 6, 2011 |

★★★★★ I have been to the sister restaurant in Redondo Beach, LA many times in the last couple of years and always enjoyed the food there. This outlet is pretty 'new', having been opened in late 2009.
I went there with my wife and our 18 month-old baby on 13 October just before we took a flight from LAX. It is conveniently located about 15 minutes drive from Disneyland in Anaheim, so would be ideal for those visiting that theme park with families. There is also ample parking.
My wife had the 'Hainan chicken rice' which we both enjoyed (the portion even for the 'small' serving, was generous!). It was tasty and very authentic and even by Malaysian standards. The only thing missing is the clear chicken soup (often used as a gravy for the rice) that is always served with chicken rice in Malaysia. Fortunately, the rice was fluffy and moist - and adding the soy sauce and chilli sauce condiments meant that the rice is not too dry. So this is definitely a dish I would highly recommend.
I ordered the 'Ayam masak merah' (chicken cooked in chilli). In Malaysia, this dish is usually cooked with a chilli-red coloured gravy and sometimes cocnut milk is added for taste and creaminess. However here, the chicken hardly comes with any gravy and the little sauce that came with the chicken was more like spicy tomato sauce and not at all authentic. The portion was again very generous. But taste wise, I would not recommend this dish.
We also ordered the 'Black pepper beef' which we both liked. It was flavourful, not overly spicy and the beef was cooked just nice...tender and juicy. Portion was generous enough for us both to take home some! I would recommend this dish.
The service was efficient and friendly (more friendly than the Redondo Beach outlet, I must say), while the ambience is pretty good too.
All in all, definitely a place I would recommend to Malaysians and non-Malaysians alike. Posted on April 8, 2011 |

★★★★★ Went their with my coworker for dinner. There is a big HALAL sign on the entrance. They do sell liquor at the place though!!! Food was really good. They serve family style so you can share everything. Good portion size and good testing food. Good to have a halal option for malaysian cousin. Posted on January 24, 2011 |

★★★★★ Guys this place is a find!!! I've been a regular at Asian Islamic restaurants in SoCal for years. What a refreshing surprise it was to eat at Belecan Grill. Friendly staff, and great food. I haven't had Malaysian food before so I was pleasantly surprised by the different flavors. There was a lot of ginger used in many of the dishes. I was happy that white meat was used in many of the chicken dishes. If you go, you must have: Tangerine Chicken, Chow Mein, Paratha with the red sauce, and the Chicken Corn Soup. I wasn't a fan of the beef satay. I will try the chicken one next time. Everything was quick fresh and tasted great. This is a great place for families as it is quite big. ★★★★☆ I went there today for lunch. Ordered kung pao chicken for take out. This restaurant doesn't cater specifically to the Muslim community. They are more mainstream. The staff was very professional and prompt. The service was great. The restaurant is very nice and clean and in a great busy location. The food was excellent, though they could have given a little bit more rice. The portion size was perfect.
Having a full bar and serving alcoholic drinks will make many Muslims uncomfortable. If it wasn't for the bar, I would give it 5 stars. Posted on December 15, 2009 |
