★★★☆☆ very average food here...busy location can get really overcrowded here, next to Masjid and close proximity to ASU. food is ok and customer service is average. Posted on August 20, 2013 |

★★★★★ Went here with my wife on the way back from Phoenix. The food was amazing and the staff is extremely friendly. After dinner we took a look around the shop. It's small with a tiny selection but there were some great finds (including some very tasty halal marshmallows!). I would definitely return (and have!). Posted on July 13, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ I was unhappy with this place. First of all I came with my family to eat here. The service was horrible! Food was not all that. The server was rude. What it seemed like that they put more preference on non Muslims than Muslims. The tip that was given to the server was sufficient but to top it off...he came to me to ask for more. Really???
Second time my mom and I went was in the evening. They guy who was serving was looked like he was drunk. I didn't feel safe at all!!!
I would not go there ever again. I don't there any more...I took my business elsewhere. Posted on November 14, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ I am a student at ASU, and have been eating at this restaurant for a few years now. If you only eat zabiha there are better choices if you own a car. What is ideal about this restaurant is the proximity to the campus. I can walk to the place and eat. The food is ok, not good but not so bad that you cannot eat it. Everything else is average about the place as well. The service is a little slow. Posted on January 22, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ I'm a student at ASU and have been coming to Phoenicia for years as it is the closest zabiha place to campus and it's conveniently near the masjid. Alhamdulillah I've never had any complaints in the past but I can no longer eat at this restaurant after today. In recent weeks, my friends and I noticed that we were being charged a small amount extra on top of our regular bill. For example, they would add a dollar or two on top of the regular price + tax. We thought nothing of it and gave the owners the benefit of the doubt. This happened to me personally 4 times in the last 3 months so today I decided to experiment. I kept my receipt from last week and ordered the EXACT same meal with no differences. Last week's receipt was for $7.71 and today they charged me $9.60 for the same meal! What made it worse was that it was the manager himself that rang me up! I stepped out for a minute, compared the receipts and when I saw the difference I went back in to ask about the difference between this week and last week. The manager wasn't there when I came back in so I asked a young brother waiting the tables about it. He looked at the receipts said he didn't understand why that happened and said he'll ask the manager. He comes back less than a minute later and said it was tax. I showed him on my phone how that could not be the tax (food + tax should of equaled $7.71). I demand to see the manager so he goes and comes back saying the manager is busy and cannot come out. I decided to just leave peacefully instead of causing a scene. I let them know its a shame that they're conducting business in such a dishonest manner under the guise of a Muslim business. I'm not the only person this has happened to and I've heard many people complain to the manager about the same thing! I cannot bring myself to go back to this business ever again especially when there are other honest Muslim restaurants nearby I can chose from. Beware of this my brothers and sisters! ★★★★★ I lived close to Dearborn, MI for over 10 years and enjoyed years of awesome arabic food. Visiting this restaurant is like I am back in Dearborn. Portions are good size and prices are reasonable. Will definitely visit again when in town. Posted on June 12, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Phoenicia is located right next to a mosque and the restaurant is clean. The food arrived soon after we ordered and it was very good. We had ordered a shawarma sandwich, chicken kafta with rice which I thought was dry but my parents enjoyed it. Good food overall. I would go again. Posted on July 25, 2010 |

★★★★★ What can I say, it is my favorite. Its next to the masjid, the chicken ghallaba is the best, the hummus is delightful and the murals of tunisia are gorgeous. Service can be super slow sometimes and it can get way overcrowded at lunch time when ASU is in session. The waiters and managers are all friendly and concerned with the quality of your meal. ★★★★★ Definitly good food, So there is hope in Phoenix for hala food. Ordered Lamb dish and kabob combo dish with rice. It was really tasty and the portion was more than I could eat. I also ordered Gyro and it was ummmm very very tasty and full of meat. Definitly will recommend this place as one of the best Halal restaurant in town. Posted on November 29, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ very terrible feeling about this place.
placed an order to have a lamb freshly slaughtered. Market was ontime with the order ( 1 week ), gave them a week in advance notice. When I was cooking the new zealand stamp was clearly noticable on the meat. Hmm..... what does that mean? they slaughtered the lamb in a foreign country? no ploblem. but why wasnt the owner honest with me? clearly said lamb was slaughtered in a farm in arizona. ★☆☆☆☆ I ordered the humus deluxe with lamb and I got about 4 pieces of small shreds, I then called the waiter and asked about the small amount, he then went and gave me a plate with more lamb, i then asked for some more bread.
as i went to go pay for my meal i noticed that i was charged $ 2.00 for 2 slices of bread. mind you that i have ate here before and never charged for bread, i can go to the store next door and buy a pack of pita for $2.00. i didnt say anything, just wanted to get out of the place. have had more experiences like in that past, i am going to have to give this place a very poor rating. ★★★★☆ In addition to having tasty food, I feel best eating here because this is one of the very few establishments I know of that publicly states in printed form that the food is halal. With many other places, it can be that there is confusion depending on who you ask, it may not be clear what the claim is exactly, etc. Posted on May 20, 2004 |
