HALAL SUMMARY
The staff of this restaurant has verbally confirmed halal status.
★★☆☆☆ one has to confirm this Resturant's halal authentication. There are no sign inside the restaurant that shows that it is a halal Resturant. Not sure. Posted on September 21, 2017
★★★★★ I've been waiting for a nice Desi style Chinese restaurant and boy they have delivered! It opened recently and this restaurant looks really promising. They have 14+ years of experience in the trade and they make everything authentic!
I had their Vegetable Chow Mein, I always prefer ordering simplest item in the menu to see if they over do anything with it. Just needed tad more salt other than that it was delicious!
I'm definitely coming back to Salt & Pepper with my family and friends! Posted on August 12, 2017
★☆☆☆☆ The restaurant looked alright at first glance but the condiment containers, salt and pepper containers were greasy and dirty with drip stains. The chair backs were sticky and some of the menus had food stuck to the inside. But because ratings were high we ordered the food. The food was extremely bland and full of corn starch. In no way did this food look or taste like authentic Chinese food. It was horrible and we couldn't leave fast enough. We left and went to another restaurant. My stomache has been upset ever since. I'll never go there again and recommend no one else does either. There needs to be a health inspection done here! Posted on June 29, 2017
★★★☆☆ Even though there isn't a halal sign, the owner is a known Muslim. They do not wish to advertise halal, as it scares away the indigenous Sikh population in Surrey.
Clean, small resturant. Decent seating area. 20% off take out orders.
Food is average at best. I tried the Chicken Spring rolls- were good, the Chicken Chow Mein which was below average and the Kung Pao was average.
They opened a few months ago, they're still quite slow. Posted on December 14, 2015
