★★★☆☆ Spoke with owner. Nice person. Yes they have pork on their menu. They are not Muslim. But they do use Zabihah meat from restaurant depot. Food is good but expensive. Posted on October 16, 2019 |

NR This place serves PORK,ALCOHOL. No sign of any halal sign. Not the right place if you are looking for halal food. Posted on October 23, 2017 |
|
|
★★★★☆ The meat they serve is not hand slaughtered (Zabihah Halal) as they buy from Restaurant Depot. They also serve pork. Posted on January 6, 2017 |

★☆☆☆☆ it's funny how people commented "we ask the waiter and food was lol".....any waiter can say that to keep their customer!!!! Posted on December 15, 2015 |

★★★★☆ Great ambiance. The server assured us the food was Halal, and was very courteous. We ordered the satay, pad Thai, Malaysian noodles and slow cooked beef. Both the noodles dishes were fantastic! And if you like coconut, try their coconut ice cream its superb.
For those concerned about the pork/alcohol yes the place isn't owned by Muslims, but like any other non Muslim establishment you might visit use your good judgement instead of complaining. Posted on November 8, 2015 |

★☆☆☆☆ I concur with one of the postings below about un-welcoming behavior of the staff and the owner himself. I plan not to go back there. I have a lot of Halal choices these days Alhamdulillah Posted on March 2, 2014 |

★☆☆☆☆ Terrible place. Bad service and environment. Very expensive. They sell alcohol and pork. Not a good Islamic environment or place to eat in general. Posted on January 9, 2011 |

★★★★☆ I went there with my husband after we found out that the restaurant next to it was closed! My husband didn't want to go in at first but I talked him into it and we both were glad I did. The food was very nice and the portion was more than enough! We loved their seafood soup and we were very impressed with the lamb! I will for sure be going back there again and I know that my husband will mind this time around ;o) Posted on January 30, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ TERRIBLE PLACE TO GO! First and foremost their waitstaff could care less what the customer wants. She was absolutely rude, and when we asked for something it took over 30 minutes..and the place was dead!
Second their food is outrageously priced and the portions are appetizer sized! We paid 11 for a bowl of soup for two..which barely sufficed me. The Mongolian beef was 16 and was seriously served on the smallest plate possible.
We were really annoyed and decided to talk to the owner..and these are his words exactly ... "That is your problem" after we told him the portions are terrible and the food is over priced...He then proceeded to show us the Washingtonian Magazine saying that they were named cheap eats..and that we are lucky that we aren't paying 50 dollars a person...My wife and I both HATE the place and even worse the people...I have no idea how they are staying in business. ★★★☆☆ We went in with a group of six adults and three kids; it was on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Firstly, the food is good; no denying that; the mongolian beef; soups; and coconut chicken in particular were winners; now, the bad. Portion size was VERY small; the price is substantial ($15-$20 for some dishes) but the portions were ridiculously small; in addition; the service we received was horrible; the kid was in the corner playing his guitar instead of getting us soda, utensils for serving the food; etc. Will not return. ★★★★★ I went to this place with about 10 other people and all of us loved it. The food is a lot like Thai food and the service is amazing. The mongolian beef was a big hit. Posted on October 20, 2008 |

★★★★★ This is a family run restaurant - they serve you as if you were in their living room - very hospitably. Burmese cuisine is very unique - a good blend of Thai and Indian. Posted on August 31, 2008 |

★★★★★ This place is amazing. Great service, the cook even came out and chatted with us. They assure us the meat is halal, but the owners are not muslim. When asked why do you serve halal meat?, they responded, " because it's a burmese restaurant, we have always grown up eating halal"
The food is fantastic, and i particularly recommend "pande koswe" and "mohinga" Posted on February 12, 2008 |

★★★★☆ I have seen the recipts for halalco where they buy their chicken and goat from. Allah knows best. Food is OK. Try the papaya salad. Its owesome. Posted on June 28, 2007 |

NR BEWARE!! This place serves pork! How could they claim that their meat is halal if they carry pork dishes? Posted on May 31, 2007 |

★★★★☆ The soup was superb, lots of choices on the menu(NON KABOB!!)snd the staff was very friendly and accomadating. Assured us that their meat was Halal. Went for dinner and would definitly go again. Posted on May 13, 2007 |

★★★★★ I started eating there before i found out it was Halal, The owners know me now as i have been a customer from day one. Later they told me that they buy their Chicken/Beef/Goat/Lamb from halal shops e.g. Halalco etc. They assured me that it is halal. I highly recommend this restaurant as it is very nice, family run and very different from same old kabob which have the standard title of Halal Food. Posted on April 8, 2007 |
