★☆☆☆☆ The portion is too small and price is off the charts! The owner was soo arrogant and rude.. I would never go back! Posted on March 1, 2020 |

★★★★★ This place is a great little Chinese spot. I’m not gonna complain about a 10 dollar menu item for halal food because that would be ridiculous. A Burger King whopper is that much. A halal Chinese spot is a blessing. Thank you for this amazing spot. Posted on January 23, 2020 |

★☆☆☆☆ Prices are very high. U can find better Chinese restaurants in oaktree road than here. They don't even provide (free) water. Food also not that much tasty as we expect... pls do not go here Posted on August 19, 2019 |

|
★★☆☆☆ the "chinese" food here was never great, but this is only option around, and the business owner knows that! so clearly that means, 4 fried chicken wings and rice should cost 10$. i recently placed an order and then cancelled it when i found out how much the prices have increased. alhumdulilah i have the money to afford it but this is outrageous and i will not be part of the insanity. hey businessowner, quit taking advantage of the situation. ★★★★☆ Food was good. Ordered the lo mein and sesame chicken. They don't have free water. :( Posted on November 15, 2015 |

★☆☆☆☆ if you want msg laden, awful, salty food go here...food sucks and i agree with the customers below. owner also tries to overcharge and steal money...beware!!! there is no customer service at all and the food is extremely low quality and expensive..there are a lot of other good options, so avoid being scammed by this place... ★☆☆☆☆ Very cheap and awful food - no quality or taste at all. The owner doesn't look like to be interested in offering good quality and tasty food. I tried few times with different dishes but all disappointing. Please think thrice before you waste your money on un-tasty bites! Posted on April 27, 2014 |

★★★★☆ We found this place while visiting the area and were not disappointed. We ordered the chili chicken, ginger chicken, chicken wings and egg rolls. Everything was prepared quick and tasty. The owner was very pleasant and made the chili chicken extra spicy upon request. The rice was cooked fresh which is something that most Chinese restaurants have problem with. Overall this is a tasty spot if you have a taste for Chinese. Posted on January 22, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ The food is good but the owner seems to be a very mean businessman (cutting corners to save pennies). We were there on New Years eve at around 6 pm. The place was cold and smelly. One gentleman waiting before us commented to the cashier have you turned on the air conditioner. Later on we realized that the heat was off and so as the exhaust system The picture above of the seats in the restaurant are kind of deceptive because if you want to sit and eat there, one has to pay above the menu prices. Almost everything has a price like extra hot sauce is for $0.50. The attitude of the owner and his wife (the cashier) is very mechanical. May Allah bless them Posted on January 4, 2014 |

★★★★★ I have been going to tasty bites for a few years now and the owner of the place knows what I like and how I like it. Having an owner that remembers your food preferences is definitely a good thing. I usually order the gravy manchurian chicken, schezwan chicken hakka noodles, chicken with black beans, black pepper chicken, chicken manchow soup, and some others and I have never had a problem with the taste or time it takes to get my food. The food is absolutely delicious and also it is zabiha halal which makes it a special location for me that I visit almost weekly. Some of these negative reviews are overly picky and tend to overlook the good qualities that this restaurant. Having a halal restaurant that can serve you freshly cooked hot food is something some people should not take for granted especially when the food portions are large and yummy. Too bad it is closed on Monday otherwise I would be there chowing down as usual......well patience is something I need to work on anyway so I guess I will wait for Tuesday now.........haha Posted on December 16, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ This is a Pakistani owned Chinese place. The first time the owner spoke good and the $9.99 was something with chicken and rice but when I went the next time, I ordered chicken Manchuria but with less rice and more of the Chinese curry, I could only take in the chicken cubes. I think it's only worth only when there is no other option to eat elsewhere otherwise the food is pricey and not fill your stomach! Posted on November 21, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ Very cheap !!! I have been eating at this place for years now and every time I forgive them thinking maybe they are unaware of how cheap and grimy they are with their food but I don't think I will ever go here again.
1. Anything that should have pieces of chicken and eggs in like rice or noodles only had eggs. Hello, egg is not chicken!!! I would have ordered a veggie item them.
2. Charges for rice if you eat and when asked about it. Owner shrugs shoulder because he could care less if you eat at his place. Well, customer service is the main reason a business runs!! So buh bye from me And families and friends !!!
3. Serves burned good.
4. Ignores your order and is rude if a larger order comes in or an order from a business. lol, hahaha !!!
I have been to write for weeks but my last experience was by far the worst !!! Owner does not care and will not care so then I don't care as well if I write a true honest review!!!! Posted on October 27, 2013 |

★★★★★ This place is a quickie Chinese food joint for Muslims. Why are people expecting the best dine-in experience? I only order Manchurian chicken and Chili chicken, and they are amazing!! Service is...well... The same like any other quickie Chinese food place. Posted on September 5, 2013 |

NR Food is too yummy but I don't prefer dinning in there.best for take away.hit on the menu r chicken lollipops, chicken chilli n mix combination rice with extra chilli.you will enjoy the food if u want indo Chinese taste though its not like typical Chinese but Desi ppl will definitely enjoy it Posted on March 5, 2013 |

★★☆☆☆ We went there on Sunday. We ordered chicken hot and sour soup, chicken and shrimp fried rice, manchurian chicken and sesame chicken. The only that was decent was fried rice. The food was expensive, they also charged extra for white rice. There was no heating and the entrance door doesn't close so the cold air was coming in. I don't think we will be going back there. I don't have any concerns with the service. Posted on March 3, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ not good quality food. Posted on October 8, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ Food is decent, but only one or two things like machurian and noodles. Thats good, the bad part is they charge for everything like 25cents for hot sauce (not extra hot sauce, just hot sauce), and $2 for rice. Also the service is not good, and they are not that pleasant if u want to change ur order or something. There are many other options in new jersey, they run their business as they would have run it back home not in america. Posted on August 29, 2012 |

★★★★★ We went there on Friday the June 29 2012 at around 4.30 pm. Owner is a gentleman from India sounds like a typical businessman from Karachi. It was a very hot day and the air conditioners were off, the owner and the Chinese Chef were also sweating. Anyways the food was very tasty/delicious obviously not a place for a family to sit and eat. Posted on June 29, 2012 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ No reall place to sit. Bascially a takeout. Food is tasty. But customer service is very bad. Posted on April 12, 2012 |
|
|
★★★★★ Great food! Very tasty. I really liked the hot and sour soup and the lollipop chicken and especially the lamb manchurian. But the rating is only on the taste. The food is served on polystyrene everything, with plastic utensils (the cheap kinds). For drinks we just wanted water, but we had to pay for it. Posted on November 14, 2011 |

|
★★★☆☆ Good food but pricey for quantity and quality. Really spicy so always tell em to make it mild. Small sit down place so do a takeout Posted on September 25, 2011 |

★★★★☆ I had no idea this restaurant even existed until a friend suggested we go there for lunch one day. Halal Chinese food restaurants are hard to come by, especially in Central NJ, so I appreciated the fact that one was nearby in a convenient location right off of Route 287. The location is pretty safe with plenty of parking and other surrounding stores and the restaurant inside was very clean. There was a wide variety of items on the regular menu, but I wish the lunch menu had more items to choose from. Nonetheless, I decided to order General Tso's Chicken, which came with white rice and steamed broccoli and a drink, all for just $7. The food was prepared very quickly and the portion was huge- I could barely finish it. The chicken was absolutely delicious- the breading was perfect without making the chicken soggy, the sauce was yummy and had just the right amount of spice, and the pieces were all white meat. I liked that the rice wasn't overly sticky like other Chinese restaurants, and the vegetables were cooked just about right. The owners should make it a full-fledged restaurant, as there was limited seating, because the food was excellent. Will definitely come back for more and recommend to others. ★★★★★ I have been to various Desi Chinese restaurants but this is the best. Only thing which I did not like much is the Veg fried rice. They need to improve it a lot. Posted on January 14, 2011 |
|
|
★★★★☆ I will rate on different aspects.
1. Food was excellent. Top of the line items were lollipop chicken, black pepper chicken, lamb chilli nd szcheuan.
2. Presentation including plates were styrofoam so average.
3. There was no provision for large families as in large containers for water.
4. The hosts did their best to accommodate us a party of 18 people including 7 kids under 14. Posted on January 2, 2011 |

★★★★★ The food is always excellent at Tasty bites. I am a regular there and love their quick service. I can add slight variations to the food to cater it to my taste, as a frequent visitor. I love the manchow soup (xtra spicy), hakka noodles, gen tso and the list is long. A great halal food addittion to our community. I love the catering trays as well. A+++++++++++ Posted on October 20, 2010 |

★★★★☆ the restaurant has good food, but very spicy unless you specifically request otherwise. Its mainly a take out joint. Quick service, and an excellent and personable owner. if you need a quick bite on a road trip, this is a solid place to stop. Posted on August 11, 2010 |

|
★★★★★ Excellent food, reasonable prices. Went here with friends for a group outing - only disappointment was that its not really a sit down eatery (seating is limited), its primarily a take out shop. However, again, the food is wonderful and there is a wide variety on the menu. The taste of the food is desi chinese style - delicious! Posted on March 7, 2010 |
|
|
★★★★☆ Owner is nice and honest and the prices cheap, $7 for lunch. But the food was not the best - if your there get something desi the strait Chinese food is subpar. Chicken Manchurian or another Hakka dish was much better than the General Tsos or Sweet and Sour Chicken. Posted on February 20, 2010 |

|
★★★★★ I never tried this place and had to cater a party at my house so I catered for 40 people from Tasty Bites. The food was OUTSTANDING. We ordered Hakka Chicken Noodles, the Veggie Fried Rice, Chicken and Broccoli and Gen Tso's Chicken. We ordered the large platters and there was enough food to have a party the next day! Everyone at the party RAVED about the food and these are all picky Paki aunties who KNOW their food. I am definitely going to be placiing future orders from TB - they made my party a hit, they didn't skimp on the food and the food was delish! Posted on January 4, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ the food is OK chinese with a big touch of desi food. owner nice but prices are too too high Posted on September 8, 2009 |

|
★★★★★ An excellent place to get halal Chinese food with a desi touch. The actual place is probably a little too small to sit there and eat but I love their food. A very nice family run business it seems like and they treat their customers real well. Posted on July 29, 2009 |

★★★★★ The food was really good - we ordered the Szechuan chicken fried rice and the Hot Garlic Chicken and it tasted amazing - the Hot & Sour soup however did not taste the way I expected it to - but other than that the food n' prices are pretty good & the owners are really awesome too! Posted on July 25, 2009 |

★★★★★ I heard a lot about this place from my friends and had to go check it out myself. The place is small but the food is awesome, absolutely excellent food!!. We ordered chicken lollipop, dumplings, chilly chicken and szechuan fried rice - all were very good, right spice levels and good taste. Am going to go again and again! It's economical too! ★★★★★ I went there for the first time after hearing about it from some friends. Basic counter service with a variety of chinese menu items - for lunch we ordered soups, appetizers and entrees and they were all very good. The portions for the entress are enough for two people.
The food was delivered very quickly by courteous helpful staff. The decor is quite minimal - the dine in area is fairly pleasent and clean. The main draw for the place is its food. Highly recommended if you are looking for delicious chinese spicy halal fast food.
Drawbacks - limited selection of cold drinks and no dessert items. Posted on July 8, 2009 |

|
★★★★★ The food is great. Lollipop chicken, especially. It's definitely more of a lunch place - very limited seating and not much in the way of decor. Very convenient from 287, and next to a big Indian supermarket. Posted on June 27, 2009 |
|
|
★★★★☆ My husband and I, as well as many friends we have taken LOVE their food. The best items are soups, lollipop chicken, hakka noodles (the garlic one), chilli lamb (actually it's mutton), cauliflower machurian is AMAZING, as is their friend rice. We are now a regular at this place and are on a first name basis with brother Shakeel and his wife. Posted on March 3, 2009 |
|
|
★★★☆☆ My brother brought some of this food for me. No doubt the portions were big. However, I felt that there was something missing. The food was really spicy, which I love, but lacked a little bit in flavor. Other than that it was good. Posted on February 10, 2009 |

★★★★★ This is the best halal chinese I have had so far in NY/NJ area. My wife and I do the take out at least once in a week. Food quality, quantity and service are excellent. Two people can have enough to eat under 20 bucks. If you don't live in the area and happened to be visiting Rutgers campus or MCMC Mosque of Piscataway its worth making a stop there. It's conveniently located off of I-287 North exit 4. Insha’allah will keep going there for years to come if food quality stays the same. Posted on December 31, 2008 |

★★★★☆ TheUltimateFoodGurus rate Tasty Bites as follows:
We were on our way to this new restaurant, when we called to find the exact location. The owner offered to email us the menu so that we could look it over on our way there. It was super convenient and sent to us within seconds. Once we arrived, the owners were friendly and immediately helpful by offerring us advice as to what we should order. The food was a bit on the spicy side, even though we had ordered "moderately spicy food" but then again, it is a desi restaurant. And it depends on your talents for spice.
Would definitely go back to this hidden little gem again :) Posted on December 29, 2008 |

★★★★★ We went to Tasty Bites this past weekend and everyone LOVED the food!! I would highly recommend the Lollipop chiken, excellent! The owners are very nice people whihc makes the environemnt even nice and more comfortable. It was def. worth the LONG drive from North Jersey =)
def check it out! Posted on November 3, 2008 |

★★★★★ We had dinner with family there this past weekend. The place was not difficult to find, but it isn't right out on a main street either. It is a small place with a few tables. Since it is a family run business the customer service was extremely nice and very friendly. They have two types of menu's - you have the choice of the American Chinese (which we were told is bland and does not have spices) or the Desi Chinese (which is full of spices). Naturally we chose on the Desi Chinese side. We must have tried 75 % of the menu on the chicken side. To each their own, I personally liked the black pepper chicken, ginger chicken and the Manchurian chicken. The soups were very good, as was the lollipop chicken. The food tasted like Naan King but a bit better with maybe more food and decent pricing. We will be visiting again. Posted on November 3, 2008 |
