Welcome to Nanking Asian Fusion, the premier choice for Indian, Chinese, and Thai cuisine. We offer our guests the experience of the hospitality of this ancient city of China! Nanking is a city about equal distance from Canton and Peking. In 1842, after Nanking was captured by the British, Sir Henry Pottinger signed the Nanking Treaty. What followed thereafter was an era where many places to eat opened up for visitors to enjoy the hospitality of this region. The food was modified to suit the palette of the visitors and entice them to come back for the cuisine. This "Fusion" cuisine became very popular. ★★★☆☆ Restaurant and ambiance were nice and calming. Staff was attentive and service was good. Food, however was really great. We ordered the hakka noodles, pineapple fried rice, and chicken Manchurian which were spot on. Staff said chicken lamb and goat were halal. They do not serve beef or pork. A big turnoff is that they have a bar in the back of the restaurant and do give you an alcohol menu with your food menu. Otherwise experience was great. Posted on February 10, 2019 |

★★★☆☆ They have a very nice ambience and the food is made when you order. The prices are on the high side. The BBQ duck was OK but didn't taste fresh. It was cooked well and crispy however. The pad see ew was very bland. The lamb chops were excellent. I would come again if prices went down. Posted on November 15, 2015 |

★☆☆☆☆ Not good at all. The interior is impressive, service was good but that's it. Food quality was terrible. Watery soup and chicken manchurian tasted very bad, bitter. Lunch special is about $15 with drink, not going back. Posted on September 28, 2015 |

★★☆☆☆ Quality has definately gone down. I work nearby and have been going here every few months for the past 5 years, in the beginning food was amazing, but now the soup is watered down, the meat in the entrees are scant, the waiters are rude and will literally ignore you. I waved an empty glass at a waiter standing by the door for a good 10 minutes before he came to ask if I need a refill. Food is your typical desi chinese, nothing to write home about. This place is half a star better than nanking express in Edison NJ. The only good thing I can say is that at least the place looks clean. I havent been back here since Jan of this year Posted on September 28, 2011 |

★★★★★ People are too hard on this place. I think it's excellent. Atmosphere is calm and classy. Food is delicious and beautifully presented. Service friendly and efficient. It's wonderful to have a classy halal option for nice occasions. As for the prices. They're right in line with what you'd expect from a nice sit-down restaurant. You can't compare their prices to what the local Chinese take-out places charge. Posted on July 10, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ Food is pretty good. Extreamly expensive. $14 for rice.that's funny.10 pounds of rice cost $13 in the store.good decor. Posted on January 9, 2011 |

★★★★★ 3.7 stars out of 5 is a little low for this place. Excellent decor, great desi chinese and thai food. Ordered plenty of dishes and all of them came out exceptionally well. If you are driving through the Edison area and need a great place to eat... you'll enjoy this place. Posted on August 11, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Good decor, very nice environment, family friendly, fast service.
Only negative is it's BYOB, some people might have a problem with that. Posted on July 17, 2010 |

★★★★☆ The atmosphere is really something, you usually don't see Halal spots that look this good. Not everything on the menu is great but everything is decent, the garlic chicken is consistently good. Posted on May 14, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ The food is good but the service is awful and that would be an understatement at this restaurant. I realized that after checking by bill that had included 15% for gratuity. They should be deducting 15% off the bill for their service. My advice is to take out and not dine in. Posted on July 1, 2009 |

★☆☆☆☆ service sucks, the employees dont know how to explain the food! and its not chinese/indian fusion at all,its practically indian with a lot of spices and no taste. Posted on June 14, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Above average food. Excellent ambience and great service. Another of the Halal places where one could take a business client out. Somewhat pricey. Food quality great but not excellent. Posted on July 13, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ the food was decent, considering i hate spicy food which it isnt spicy at all. the portions where also not bad at all, but the prices were a little outrageous for the portions that you ghet...for a plate of butter chicken you will pay $10, but you wont get any naan, rice or anything at all with it. when we went the place was relatively clean, but it needed to be swept and the tables needed to be wiped down a little more. The service is not nice but definitely not mean either, the food takes a good 10-15 minutes which is kind of slow for fast food, but at least you know its not microwaved. everyone in my family hated it but i would go back if there was nothing else around. ★★★★★ Great selection of dishes, everything we tried was good, worth taking home. Service seemed fine, even though the place was relatively busy. Manager came by himself to ask how the food was. Posted on October 15, 2007 |

★★☆☆☆ If you cannot stand snooty attitude bad service, stay away from Nanking in Piscataway, Middlesex Mall.
The food and ambience is reasonably good and reminds you of the "Indian Chinese" cuisine from the streets of Bombay but the staff are always more than ready to spoil your time.
If you're around 2-3 people, you will be most likely jailed in a dark corner. Consider yourself lucky if the server visits you after serving the food. Strollers are not allowed into the restaurant. Your child (regardless of age) has to be in a car seat or a high chair. High chairs mostly have broken belts.
In a group of 8+ people, you're more likely to get good service (errr ... if they don't forget what you ordered !). You will be cramped for space and will constantly be rubbing elbows with your neighbors!
On one occassion, we had a reservation for 12 and had an unexpected arrival of 2 guests. The rude servers and managers forced us to close the tab on one table and only then move to the other. Plus, they did not move us. We had to move the utensils ourselves to the new table. Customer service at its worst !
If you don't speak English or Spanish at home, like a few other desi restaurants, the attitude takes a turn for the worse.
The prices are a bit on the higher side. If you dine in, they charge a 15% gratuity by default. This may be the reason for the pathetic customer service.
To be on the safe side, avoid dining in here for any reason; take away is the way to go as long as the food does not lose its charm ! Posted on September 6, 2007 |

★★★★★ By far the best indian Halal chinese i have had outside India. The food and the abience was excellent and the service is great. Should say that the food is worth every penny I spend. Would highly recommend this place to all my fellow moslems. Posted on September 14, 2006 |

★★★★★ Great Food, but did cost a lot of mullah. I thought it was worth the money. Should at least try it out once, but be prepared to dish out some major cash Posted on January 5, 2006 |

NR Good food, but expensive. Chicken starts from $14 and when you get to Lamb it is $21 per person. Adding tips and their 15% gratuity it is expensive. Staff is very good, keeps asking you if you are satisfied, and explanis all strange names of dishes they have. Place is deep inside a shopping mall, but clean. Confirmed Halal status from few workers, was informed that everything is Halal and the owner is also a Muslim. Once an year, or when you trying to impress someone. Food rating 10/10. ★★★★☆ Food was great ... but not enough quantity. the restaurant is expensive according to the food quantity. also they should expand the seatings. they are very close from each other. Posted on November 10, 2005 |

NR We went to the place but we were not satisfied about the food being zabiha. The managers were not informed about where they get their meat from. There were no Halal signs anywhere at the entrance nor does the menu says that the food is Halal.
If someone can actually get the phone number of their meat supplier and post it at this website it will be extremely helpful. We love chinese food and would love to try this place out. Posted on June 15, 2005 |

★★★★★ I have been to this place on many occassions with my family and friends and it has been an excellent experience each time. I have met the owner Mr AminMohamed personally and he assured me that all meat products served in the restaurant is 100% Halal and the source for supply is Al-Aziz Meat Products. I would like to share this message with all my fellow muslims. Posted on February 25, 2005 |

★★★★☆ Good Desi-Chinese,a long list of good dishes, nice decor .mostly crowded requiring wait time. priced towards higher side .No pork or Beef dishes .Zabiha needs to be verified though the owner promises halal Meat. Posted on December 31, 2004 |

★★★★☆ First of all, the name of this establishment is Nanking. This is for the Chinese dynasty of Nanking, not Naan King as I believe was implied. Primarily this is a Indian-style Chinese restaurant. It has a stylish ambiance with well-done typical Indo-Chinese creations. I, however, am skeptical of it being zabihah. Perhaps we can verify prior to venturing out there. Posted on October 29, 2004 |
