NR Food is horrible service is bad. Not Halal. Don't ever go there. Posted on January 1, 2013 |
★★★☆☆ The only halal restaurant San Diego where I have eaten twice, but it seems it may no longer be halal. Posted on June 22, 2012 |
★☆☆☆☆ Owner of this resturant is Sikh, not a muslim. Previously it was owned by soe pkistani brother. Its definitely not Halal. They could not show me Halal Board of Sandiego certificate. Posted on September 29, 2011 |
NR I have not revisited this place since new non-muslim ownership takeover. I doubt halal authenticity. Posted on July 12, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ I too highly doubt the authenticity of their claiming they serve halal food. Thier food quality also drastically deteriorated after the new management took over. Posted on August 19, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ The place has new management. I asked if they are halaal and they told me they were. I went to the San Diego masjid and asked a brother there if he knew the store was halaal - he said that the store was. The food is decent. I ordered chicken tikka masala but it tasted more like decent butter chicken and we ordered lamb korma which really tasted like goat with a random mix of sauces/shorba they had in the back. I wouldn't go back just because there are other options in the area. If anyone can, please ask the owner for halaal authenticity - I didn't feel completely satisfied. Posted on March 29, 2010 |

★★★★★ I've always loved the food here, but unfortunately the owner told me last night that he has sold the restaurant. The new management that will take over from Monday will no longer be serving Halal food. Posted on July 24, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ Not the best place to go in San Diego. The chicken Tikka masala was horrible. Nihari and Biryani was average. Expensive for the amount of serving. Posted on March 6, 2009 |

★★★★★ This is one of the better halal restaurant/cafe style places I've seen in SD, its clean and the staff are friendly. They do not sell alcohol but will serve you if you bring your own (there is a 7-eleven next door) as my non-muslim colleague did. The waiter is not muslim (I think) so he doesn't have issues with this. High prices but you get quite good service, the single waiter does get a bit flustered when there are three different parties to serve but otherwise he is efficient and deals with kids well. Chicken Tikka Masala is poor (it is quite watery) but I've been here three times and tried different dishes and they really are excellent. Small portions, slightly higher price, but a family of four can eat for $60. Easy parking, lots of kiddie chairs, toilets very clean and fresh. There is a constant Bollywood dancing on the TV which gets a bit annoying. Nice decor - I didn't notice anything unacceptable, but I wasn't looking for it! Posted on September 21, 2008 |

★☆☆☆☆ The food here was horrible. The chicken tikka masala was very watered down. Posted on September 12, 2008 |

★★★★★ This restaurant has, by far, one of the best tasting food I've had! The staff (especially the owner)was very professional, and courteous. Anyone who visits San Diego is highly recommended to visit this place, whether it's with family or without! Especially if you can catch the 11-3pm buffet! Posted on August 14, 2008 |

★★★★☆ i visited this place after reading thru the comments on this website, and i really enjoyed my food there. My colleagues also went with me and they liked the food as well. Posted on September 6, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Very good restaurant. I love the chicken biryani, chicken curry and the beef kebabs are great! The employees are very nice and so is the owner. I would give it 5 stars but the portions could use alittle more meat for the price you pay. Oh, one more thing. Wish it was more Halal in it's decorating, as there's Indian Art with ***Haram Images and it has a TV showing ***Haram Indian videos! Oh well, the food is worth going there... ★★★★☆ Based on the comments from others I decided to take the 12 mile drive to this place on my visit to San Diego. I was immediately impressed with the decor and cleanliness. The combo options make ordering quick and the food was served promptly. It was fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. In fact I plan to have another meal at this place before I leave. ★☆☆☆☆ the waiter was nice but the manager was extremely rude, he checked up on every table except for ours, he also made us move to another table in the middle of our meal, the portions are ridiculously small, overpriced, and worst of all they cook with Shan masala, i dont have anything against Shan masala but thats not what i expect at a restaurant Posted on December 11, 2006 |

★★★★★ The decor in this restaurant is beautiful. The wall hangings show an authentic charm of both Pakistan and India.
Some of the items I enjoyed off of the menu are Nihari and Gulab Jamin. Both of them are beyond perfect in taste!!
I would totally recommend checking this place out!!! ;-) Posted on August 24, 2006 |
