★★★☆☆ Decent food with kind of a strange atmosphere. The decor isn’t quite upscale, and sort of aging. The kabobs are juicy, but better flavor at lower prices can be had nearby. Posted on April 13, 2018 |

★★☆☆☆ We tried torshee , it's a mix if pickled veges , can be used as a side but not as a dish. Also had a soup lentil noodle soup but it was not good , at least not as I was expecting.
Also served a salad sort if thing with pita bread but I don't like it since it was very yeasty in taste.
Had beef kabob dish named BARGH it was nice and was served with rice.
Had ice cream bastaani it was good.
Ambience and service was good and it's pricey too.
So overall the things that I tried they were not worth what I paid.
May be they have some other things on their menu that won't disappoint me.
We asked the owner abt food being halal they said everything on menu is halal. Posted on April 16, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ Trying to find ways to spend my money with the ummah....Can't be halal And serve alchohol. Keeping my money on this one Posted on May 17, 2012 |

★★★★★ I have eaten here a few times and I enjoy it. The meal comes with the Persian appetizer of "sabzi" I believe its called of fresh feta, herbs such as mint, radish, and pita. The fare is a bit pricey, but it delivers in quality. It is truly fine, Persian cuisine. I too wish they would stop serving alcohol, but at least it is not overly advertised or on display as I have seen in other halal restaurants. Posted on August 16, 2011 |

★★★★★ The place carries halal food. They buy meat from same place we do. Posted on October 15, 2009 |

★☆☆☆☆ They are not Halal. I went there about 3 months ago and the waiter did not know what is halal. Call them and verify this. What type of restaurant serves some meat that is halal and some that are not??? I don't mind them serving alcahol b/c I wouldn't drink it. But it upsets me that they sell both types of meat. NR Sorry, I have to state that they are NOT Zabiha.
Please ask them to show you something to prove they BUY Zabiha meat.
Food is very good but we ended up eating there believing it was Zabiha. Posted on June 29, 2008 |

★★★★★ ASA, This is the first restaurant that is CONFIRMED to be HALAL. I have eatten at least once at every single "halal" restaurant on this cite. Yet, Famous Kabab, about 4 times, since I moved to California from Maryland. I have spoken to the owners and inspected their kitchen and looked at their meats. Their lamb and chicken are all halal, but sometimes the beef is not, so you must ask, if you order a beef dish.
The owners are very honest, Muslim brothers, who are extremely sanitary and highly organized. Posted on January 19, 2006 |

★★★☆☆ We had lunch there and it was decent. I think its a lil pricy for the amount of food they'll give you...i've definitely been to better persican restaurants...but the service was good. Posted on September 21, 2005 |

★☆☆☆☆ Brothers and sisters why go to a business that serves haram with halal?? Best to avoid if really want a Islamic halal meal! Posted on October 28, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ Mashallah, I think the food is good Persian Cuisine, however I have to agree the Halal Authenticity is Unverified. I have asked several times, and never really get an affirmative answer. Inshallah, someone should go in the back and just check, so the issue is finally resolved. Dinners tend to be pricy, but the lunch special is reasonable. Posted on September 5, 2004 |

★★★★★ Excellent food. A must try. Food is authentic and tastes good. Service is still good although their best server has gone back to Poland. Posted on July 7, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ Not worth going to if looking for islamic halal food! Staff will say some food is halal and other not they don't seem very knowledgeable on what "HALAL" means. My advise better to go elsewhere, since any islamic business whould not be run in such a manner. Posted on February 6, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ as-salamualiakum my dear muslims. i heard that this place does not serve Halal food. When you ask the waiter (who doesnt even speak english), he jus shakes his head yes. If i am wrong May Allah (Swt) forgive me. JUST double check if you are goin to visit. Posted on April 23, 2003 |

★★★☆☆ We had been there a few times and the last time broke the camel's back. Every employee in there has a different story to tell on what item is Halal or not. Allah forgive me if I am wrong but I do not think they serve Halal meat so we have stopped going. Posted on April 13, 2003 |

★★★☆☆ The kabobs are good, but they serve alcohol. The steak is not zabihah. Posted on March 9, 2003 |

★★★★☆ Food is good. I asked if the meat was halal. They replied in the affirmative. Posted on April 15, 2000 |

★★★☆☆ Food is good - but you must ask if the meat is halaal - When something like the chicken is not halaal I have been told after I expressed concern about halaal. Posted on December 10, 1999 |
