★☆☆☆☆ I'm going to change my somewhat good reviews n rating posted 2 months ago on google to this. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. IT'S ONLY MUSLIM OWNED BUT HOSPITALITY IS NOWHERE CLOSE TO ISLAMIC VALUES. THE MONSTEREOUS LITTLE OLDER FELLOW standing at the reception will eat you alive with his extremely disrespectful n discourteous accusatory behavior if ever you express your concerns about the food is not how you ordered it. My son n I decided to eat there tonight. We ordered chicken fried rice and Kung Pao chicken with very specific instructions of NO SPICES my son said MILD. now the food shows up. Rice dish is good however the chicken is filled with cut up red chilies n I point that out to the man. He nods his head in NO ...I'm.like please look carefully there's a lot of chilies n it's spicy. He right away started pointing at my son saying he told me mild. I said ok i understand but it is clearly not mild it's very spicy you can see the amount of cut up chilies. He starts talking to me in rude n disrespectful way with pointing fingers saying I am laying n takes the dish away from my the table n says I'm not going to give you food I'm not going to serve you anymore no more food. I'm sitting in disbelief looking at his face he places the dish on the side table starts closing the lights n my son at this point is terrified and I'm furious at that man's behavior. I asked for the owner or the manager in charge he says there is no owner n I'm the in charge. I said this is how you treat people? This is how you take care of customer's concerns. All I'm asking you is that it's too spicy. He places the dish away n I'm trying to look for someone to speak to. I saw chef coming n I tried to ask about the owner he says he no speak English. The little man again comes and stares at my son n points at him again n tells to be honest if he didn't say mild. I told him to stop pointing fingers n harassing my child I'm his mother n we clearly asked for no species n keep it mild n it's not mild. He continues to argue I said ok if you don't quit harassing my child I'm going to call the police. I took a picture of his dish n he says ok call the police n then he has the audacity to bring me the check. I'm mad at this n I took it from his hands n threw it away n says oh you threw it away... God, it was too much to bare I was so upset n felt so insulted ...I picked up my purse n left. I AM STILL IN SHOCK at what I just experienced. Thier service was poor even when I visited the first time 2 months ago but today IT BLEW ME AWAY HOW TERRIBLE ILL-MANNERED that was. NEVER EVER THIS PLACE. IF THE OWNER IS READING THIS PLEASE KNOW THAT BY SERVING HALAL N BEING A MUSLIM BY NAME AND HANGING RELIGIOUS PICTURES IS NOT ENOUGH TO ATTRACT CUSTOMERS YOU HAVE TO LIVE BY THE VALUES OF YOUR RELIGION. N TEACH SOME MANNERS TO YOUR STAFF ESPECIALLY THAT LITTLE CREATURE WORKING IN YOUR RESTAURANT RECEPTION. the most pathetic place on earth!!!! deserves -0 rating! Posted on January 26, 2018 |

★☆☆☆☆ Very pathetic service, staff was not friendly at all, no welcoming attitude, owner's behavior was very bad and he forced us to pay the tip even though we didn't like the service, will not go back to the restaurant again.
NOT RECOMMENDED. Posted on August 16, 2015 |

★★★★☆ I have mixed feelings about this place. Let me start from the beginning
The moment you enter the place, you know it has to be halal. It has a lot of wall art that represents Islam. Decor inside the restaurant feels authentic chinese including the furniture and the layout.
The serving size is very close to huge. We ordered a soup as the starter and the small bowl was big enough for a family of 4. We could not finish any of the entrees.
The food, though, is not extraordinary.
- Hot n Sour soup was pretty good, highly recommended
- Chicken Fried Rice were like spiceless vegetable biryani
- Kung Pao Chicken was OKish (recommended though if you like sweet and savory flavors infused together)
- Beef in Garlic Sauce - Not good
Overall, I would say it has potential to be the next thing in greater Vancouver area. They need to focus on their food quality and it would be one of the best places there. Posted on April 12, 2015 |

★★★☆☆ Little different but very good food. Staff is very helpful & always smiling. Service it bit slow though but food is great. Posted on February 10, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ Owner says pork was listed on their previous menu, which they continued using after buying the business from the original owner but that they never carried it. No pork listed on current menu. Anyway, the food here is just average - definitely not the "best around" as some other reviewers have said. It's just ok, nothing spectacular, and yes, unfortunately they do serve alcohol. No disrespect to those who like this place, but my personal opinion is that the food at the other halal Chinese restaurants in Vancouver are MUCH better than this. Won't be going back anytime soon. ★★★★★ MashAllah. They truly represents Northern Chinese Muslim food! Wonderful setting for gatherings! Just saw they now have lunch specials! They absolutely have NO pork. I wonder where did one comment poster saw pork on their menu? Posted on February 27, 2013 |

★★★★★ This was a truly amazing experience with excellent food - probably the best Chinese halal food around. The meat is definitely halal as the supplier is known to me - although I don't know about the duck - as I didn't ask - so rely on the comments below -
Owners are Chinese Muslim family and very friendly people. Overwhelming majority of clientele is non- Muslim - and it definitely needs support if the community got this restaurant to succeed Posted on February 13, 2013 |

★★★★★ Great restaurant, with very nice interior and atmosphere. Food is just amazing - one of the rare places in Vancouver area where you can try halal Chinese food. Posted on January 22, 2013 |

★★★★★ This place is great. I would say, slightly too pricey, but delicious food.
Take a break from the usual, and experience Muslim Chinese food.
Strong recommendation. Posted on January 7, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Very good lunch specials. Try the kung pao chicken / beef. Great place good service. Only the duck is not halal. They do serve alcohol but then again they are competing with 100 Chinese restaurants whic do that as well, and with the minuscule Muslim population to come I just for the halal food, it is understandable. ★☆☆☆☆ How can this be considered a Halal restaurant when they have PORK on the menu and serve alcohol!! And the owners are known Muslims? Known by whom? This restaurant is not recommended for Muslims who eat Halal! Posted on September 19, 2012 |
Our information shows they have no pork on their menu (though they do serve alcohol to their non-Muslim customers). |

★★★★★ Excellent!!!
I have ordered 2 dumpling and 3 main dishes. Every thing tasted fresh good quality meets and chicken the best thing about this restaurant is its north chines style not the regular every day stuff. Highly recommended and will sure drive the 15 km drive again and again. Posted on August 19, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Owner is a Chinese muslim..the food was awesome; I was there on business and will be visiting this place whenever I go back Posted on August 17, 2012 |

★★★★★ Finally a Halal Chinese restaurant close to home. Outstanding quality food served fast by friendly Muslim Chinese immigrants. We love the shredded beef with "pancakes" and the chicken rice is excellent.
The owners are a young Muslim couple who are very friendly and welcoming. Only the duck is not Halal as apparently that is hard or expensive to find in the Vancouver area. No pork on the menu.
It is unfortunate that they need to serve alcohol to survive but in a city with a tiny handful of Muslims, we do not judge them harshly for this as we'd rather have a Halal restaurant available than to see them go out of business.
We visit regularly, it's one of our favs! Posted on August 10, 2012 |
