★☆☆☆☆ What a upclass disappointment! They say it’s a fine dining cuisine, sadly nothing fine in this restaurant, including the servers! Had a group of colleagues attending this restaurant for lunch, and the only 2 items on the menu that seemed savory from the description was butter chicken (~$20) and dum biryani (~ $27). I was hoping that it would be something out of this world, especially when I’m paying a fortune for “dum” biryani and butter chicken. First off, there was zero/nada/zilch dum in the biryani, which was in a cornflakes miniature bowl covered with a medium heated naan…upon tasting it, the rice literally felt like it was re-warmed up in a microwave, and covered with a quarter piece of naan to preserve the “dumness” inside, however, the rice was oily, bland, and interestingly enough, cubes of chicken with bone pieces were included. Why would a $27 biryani have chicken bone pieces in it, it should be all breast meat and fragrant saffron. On to the butter chicken, it seemed “alright”, and to upon asking for extra raita, got charged $2.50 for a small, really really really small raita container. I asked the server to remove the raita expense, since it wasn’t mentioned earlier during ordering. All in all, this is definitely not a place I would be returning to. Posted on July 18, 2016 |
