★★★☆☆ First ate here in 1992 and thought it to be the best falafel in the city. Had lunch with my son and found that there are new owners and the food has gone from excellent to just tasty. The new owners should have done a complete cleaning but the server was pretty polite. They don't seem to be as friendly as the old owner and seem to be preoccupied, which had an impact on the length of time it took for our food to arrive. I would reccommend the food but was not impressed with who appeared to be running the show- he was somewhat rude. Too many falafel joints around to eat here again. Posted on December 26, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Ordered the falalfel platter and shawarma sandwich to go. Both were tasty. The hot sauce was perfect. I recommend this place. Posted on February 7, 2011 |

★★★★☆ I thought it was good, one of the older Halal restaurants in Philly so they know what they're doing. Posted on December 13, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ Did not have a great experience here. I first tried to order an item that was printed on the menu and the lady serving our table tells me that they no longer have that item even though it is printed on the menu. I then ordered a chicken sandwich. After waiting for 20 mins, the lady comes back and says sorry, we gave your order to some else on accident and you will have to wait some more. After 40 mins, she brought my sandwich and did not offer any compensation/discount, or even a sincere apology. I was also not impressed with the food (as it was not that tasty) and the setting was very small and cramped. Posted on November 5, 2010 |

★★★★☆ The food was awesome, big portions and very tasty. However, the decor of the place is not halal, and we had a very scantily clad waitress serve us. The area, south street, is also a very wild. SO be careful! Posted on July 3, 2007 |

★★★★★ This place is my favorite. My husband and I enjoy eating here, unfortunately its at least a 35 min ride which is quite a distance for us otherwise we would enjoy more of the no. 21 menu item(chicken and rice w/vegetables, its so good I crave it all the time. The lentil soup and alyan platter is also quite delicious. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Posted on December 30, 2006 |

★★★★☆ We had a light lunch here one day. We had a hummus and falafel plate and it was delicious. Also, I recommend the mint tea. The area is counter-culture, if you are sensitive to that. Posted on December 22, 2006 |

★★★★☆ Al-Hamdu Allah, the food here is excellent. The humas is the very best humas I've had except for the humas I had in Egypt. The cooks here are really good. And the dishes that they prepare have tasted the good for years that I've been going there. Guard your eyes from some of the pictures they have on the walls. And seek refuge with Allah(SWT) from a horseshoe they have hanging over the front door. Also, beware of your evironment ... it is on South Street Philadelphia where all sorts of people hang out.
