★★★★☆ Really good food & fast service. I placed my order & walked to the masjid close by & felt quite safe in the area. There are many Muslims in the area, so I guess we just blend in. Posted on September 15, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Positive: Delicious, American style food that will satisfy your hunger for meat!
Negative: Location is less than ideal and may not be suitable for everyone during late hours.
Overall: Solid, excellent quality American food with variety of delicious dishes, and a non-typical halal meat store located right next door. Posted on July 28, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ I would advise you to be very cautious if you decide to order anything from here and you also happen to eat strictly zabiha food. In 2004 we asked a worker if all the meat was zabiha, he looked at us as if we were crazy, and told us that ofcourse, EVERYTHING was halaal. Approximately six months later, I noticed that the menu titling was changed from "100% Halaal" to "100% Beef." This weirded me out so, I called to ask about this, and the same worker who told us some months before that everything was halaal, now told me that some of the items were zabiha and that other menu items were made out of meat provided by a non-halaal meat company. This bothered me b/c the only way that i found this out was by looking at their paper menu, I'm visibly muslim and was never told by the staff regarding this "menu change." I was so disgusted by this, that i could never go back, just thinking about it makes me sad....Now, this was back in 2004/5, so maybe they have gone back to a 100% halaal menu, who knows, just be careful. The food itself was ok, it was hit or miss. Posted on November 9, 2007 |

★★★★★ This is an excellent restaurant in a large Muslim community. The food is good. They have booths for privacy. And there Muslims everywhere you look. The Masjid is across the street and there Muslim clothing stores down the street so you can do shopping when you get done eating. And, there's a halal meat store next door to the resturant. ★★★★☆ The quality of halal meat is the best weve purchased so far in this area. The customer service in the store has been consistently good as well. Posted on April 9, 2005 |

★★★★★ The food was excellent, and the variety of halaal food is superb. Next time I visit Philadelphia, I'll be sure to visit Al-Salam again. Posted on July 4, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Great place to hang-out with Muslims. With a masjid nearby and several stores, makes for a nice outing. The food is usually good, although the workers may not be too pleasant. The place is usally busy, so allow for some time. Posted on February 24, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ Al-Salam is mainly a pizza shop that offers alot more (steaks, pasta, etc.). Their menu is very diverse--from breakfast to dinner. Seating is available and booth space is available for privacy as well. Everything is halal and there is even a meat-packing store next door. I used to eat here often and my only complaint is they will make an error with your order about 50% of the time--no kidding. Some of the workers might have trouble with english and not understand your order; otherwise not bad for fast food. Posted on February 12, 2004 |
