★★☆☆☆ this is a bar run by guyanese hindus..they may have halal meat or may not ..but the environment is a bar showing cricket and a unfriendly cold lady at the counter who doesnt even greet you..just grabs a pen waiting for u to speak ..the food is ok but i stop going here because of the bar scece and rude service( .u can get the same food for same price at the muslim run halal place on old winter garden rd near masjid)
this shouldnt even be on zabihah Posted on November 4, 2013 |

★★★★☆ the cooks in the back due a heck of a job. delicious and tasty each and every time. unfortunately counter service is bad. the lady at the desk seems like she does'nt want to be there or is always in a bad mood. if you can get past the jaded service. then food worth the trip. ★★★☆☆ VERY poor customer service, the young lady would'nt even barely acknowledge us, had a couple simple questions, she just blew me off, and did'nt want to answer, then continued to explain rest of menu in 1 or 2 words, that was a real off putting experience, once getting past that, the food was satisfactory and nice to watch cricket on flat screen, but forget about service, very rude indeed. ★★★☆☆ service is somwhat poor, customer is'nt treated well at all, i was more or less asked in a harsh tone "what do i want?"...and lady was rather impatient and slouched over the counter, not a good first impression at all..in the food department, it is satisfactory, no real complaints with the food taste, price is somewhat at a premium, but food does taste good, just bad service and slightly expensive. ★★★★☆ the entrees are pretty good, the prices are a little steep, it's not really catering towards muslims, although all the meat is halal, they also serve beer and have dance nights, and a mixed population eats here, but it's all tasty and i can see myself coming back in the future. ★★★★☆ It's a small place that is kept typically how most Guyanese/West Indian places are. Probably a culture shock for non-Carribbean muslims as it's not your typical halal place.
Alcohol is served and I wouldn't recommend eating in the restaurant because it not the best environment--instead call in your order and pick up your food to go. The taste of the food is exquisite (especially the fried rice) and the prices are reasonable.
Overall I would recommend if your in the area and just want to pick up something to eat. Posted on October 20, 2011 |
