Mediterranean favorites get the quick-serve treatment at this halal & vegan-friendly spot, which caters to a lunch-time crowd. The counter-service set-up allows for total customization: Start with a Lebanese roll, golden rice, salad or a bed of hummus, then add beef or chicken shawarma, kefta kabob (grilled lamb) or falafels. Top it off with the sauce of your choice from a list that includes tahini, raita (spiced yogurt sauce) and spicy tomato. Sides such as dolmas, fattoush and lentil soup are available too, and in the morning there's a small Med-inspired breakfast menu with options like a shawarma omelet and falafelette, chopped falafels mixed up with scrambled eggs. ★★★★★ In surprised to see these reasons, and that this place isn't reviewed more. I went to the first location when it opened six years ago, and the quality and consistency and service has is still excellent. The oakbrook location is zabihah halal as indicated by multiple signs and the staff's confirmation. Think of chipotle for Mediterranean, with fresh and freshly prepared ingredients, excellent service (say Hi to mgr Adam), and a hip clean interior. They were closing as we walked in at nine pm, but accommodated or order with a gracious, quick and customized attitude. Looking forward to going back, and discussing a catering order soon. In an area filled with options, IDOF should be at the top of your list. Posted on August 17, 2015 |

★★★★☆ Have been once and was amazed. This "chipotle" style restaurant is great. I am used to halal restaurants being small, cramped, old. This was new and clean! Staff was friendly and answered my questions about different options. Food was decent, would go again. Posted on February 11, 2016 |

★★★☆☆ Quality of good is average I think. Fresh vegetables and topping but meat n chicken is average. Extra point for nice clean setting. Posted on February 22, 2014 |

★☆☆☆☆ This is regarding your location in Oak Brook Terrace.
The new ownership is terrible. I used to come here twice a week for lunch, and they would always provide a generous helping of meat/chicken. However the other day when I was getting dinner here, the new owner signaled to my server to lower the amount of chicken shawarma he was providing me. So the server actually stopped midway to take some shawarma out. The food still taste great but two thumbs down for terrible service on behalf of the ownership.
I will no longer be a customer based solely off this experience. To me good service matters as much as the quality of food being served. Posted on January 21, 2014 |

★★★★★ IDOF is excellent, doner kabab and chicken shwarma with a selection of salads, humous, etc. Its the Chipotle model with arab foods. Nice modern look that welcomes all kinds of eaters; I return all the time and bring friends and family. Im really happy to see the halal food options in Chicagoland become mainstream and blossom! ★★★☆☆ Food was very good 4/5 stars, cleanness also 4/5 stars, pricing 3/5 stars accepted but a disappointing 2/5 stars in customer service and defiantly needs to improve in that area cause customer service is 50% of any business. Posted on January 25, 2013 |
