★☆☆☆☆ Did not like it at all. The place is cozy to chill. Didn't try hookah. But the food sucks. Not well cooked. Burned. Took an hour to serve. Mad expensive for no reason. Posted on May 9, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Great food and ambiance. The afghani food in queens is better but this is good for manhattan. Recommended! Posted on April 10, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ I thought the place was alright, the seating area is nice and everything but the good things stop there. I have been there at 3 different occasions. The food is never consistently good. It ranges from OK to not that great, they serve some dishes cold when they should be hot so definitely not fresh made food. I think the only thing they make fresh are the kebabs. ★★★★☆ The food is good overall and the ambiance is nice. The place is dark, candlelit and also has shisha. The service is also quite good. Most meals are about $15-20, but some of the appetizers (e.g. fesenjan chicken) are also very filling. Be sure to try the shi chai if you go - it's black milk tea with rose petals and is very good. ★★★★☆ Food quality was not bad at all. Portions were a tad on the small side however. Price was fair but you'll definetly get more bang for your buck in Queens. Restaurant's setting/ambiance was nice. Posted on January 25, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Khyber Pass has some excellent food. Barg (Beef kabobs) and Mantoo (meat dumplings) are my favorite. Also, they deliver and the prices are good.
I would give them an "excellent" rating, but they serve alcohol. Posted on October 23, 2005 |

★★★★☆ Nice atmosphere; courteous service; good portion sizes. Chicken and beef kabobs were great, but the lamb meat was tough. Posted on May 14, 2005 |

★★★★☆ The food is pretty good, the lamb did have that slight smell to it. So I stuck with the chicken in my return visits. Nice place and I would suggest that you eat here if you are in to Afghani Food. Posted on December 8, 2004 |

★★★★☆ This place is good and the food is excellent. The decor is good too and not a bad place to go with your family, freinds and colleagues. Posted on May 21, 2004 |

★★★★☆ I haven't eaten there in awhile but I remember the food being good- Afghan cuisine was/is quite novel to me- even when I ordered the relatively "safe" chicken and rice... really good though, and a lot of it- and the service was okay. Posted on April 23, 2004 |

★★★★☆ "The food is excellent, but the service is iffy. No matter how few people in the restaurant, you're guaranteed that they get at least one dish wrong. However, if you're willing to put up with it, you will be well recompensed. You'd be hard pressed to find more authentic Afghan food in NYC." Posted on January 26, 2001 |
