★☆☆☆☆ Saturday morning, desire to eat Halwa Puri Nashata at Famous Shirin Mahal
1. Cost 4.99$/nashta -
Consist of two puri, halwa, chana & aloo sabzi with Achar
Believe me, this was not my 1st time of having Halwa Puri at any place in Mississauga area.
Well everything was dipped and filled with OIL
Puri was dark - looked like cooked in already used oil or heat was so high that it burned them
Both channa & aloo sabzi was giving only taste of Oil & no other flavor. Halwa was marginally better
When most places sell the same for 2.99 I can well understand why the price is higher then others.
2.99$ for breakfast & other 2$ for the amount of OIL
Well Done!!!!!! Posted on May 21, 2016 |

NR Visited the place for the first time two days ago, nice and clean but the staff manning the counter was really rude and finding ways to make quick bucks. From a desi perspective the pricing structure is on the higher end thus restricting themselves to a certain class of society
Need to rethink the weighing funda with packing box as doesn't make sense.... not selling gold
Overall taste of puff patties was good Posted on February 20, 2013 |

★★★★★ Often been there on weekend for breakfast(nashta). Amazing puris, katlamas, choley, halwa etc etc.... Food is oily but definitely resembles pakistani breakfast and its taste :D Posted on June 5, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ What I would recommend from this place is just patties. The cake is usually stale and the breakfast was horrible.
On top of it all, the ladies working here are well.....scary aunties that will bite your head-off if you dare to ask too many questions...word of advice ladies.....be friendly. Posted on November 22, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Gulab Jamun, Motichoor laddoo are the best I have ever had in GTA; ras malai, ras gulla are below average. Posted on September 24, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Overall all a good place. The bakery stuff is awesome BUT word of caution, this place is really expensive, as soon as I find another Pakistani bakery I will stop going here. Posted on September 22, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ Sept 5 2011
Mithai is good and different just like I had said before but raising the price of mithai almost $2/lb within 1 year is quite horrendous to say the least... I have serious concerns about the amount of shireen in the gulaab jaamuns as that takes a good pound out of 2 in a 2 lb box of Gulaab Jaamuns.. Also, I have serious reservations if they raise their prices again as I am already quite tempted to try Brar Sweets which offers much tasty Mithai in the GTA

★★★★★ Now this is a Very NEAT and CLEAN Sweet Shop in GTA No Hussle Bussle here. You get real nice Mithai and you can head back home all in maybe 10 minutes regardless at what hour of the day you're visiting.
Also, I find some of their Mithai's better than Shirin Mehal back in Pakistan.. I recently received a box of their Special Mithai for Special Occassion boxes on Eid and the MITHAI WAS DELICIOUS and NOT AS SWEET As BAKLAVA or Other Desi Mithais I've eaten recently. Posted on September 5, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ expensive and unfair prices. customer service is not up to the standard. hopeless and feel bad to see our community store is only interested to make money nothing else. Posted on August 13, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ wicked ladies i must say, inconsistent, sweets are stale sometimes they are fresh.
very expensive ofcorse, i suggest trying sweet before every purchase to ensure they are fresh.
ras malai is UGH !!! Posted on March 24, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ Honestly, an expensive place.
With wicked ladies who try to fill you two pound Ghulab Jaman box, half filled with the shereen (sugar sauce).
And when I ask for a pound box, please give me 1.3 pound box.
Did you notice that the fancy boxes (gift boxes) are for free? but don't worry they charge you within the weight.
The prices and the staff/management need to rethink that for how long they can fool people. Posted on February 1, 2011 |

★★★★★ Excellent bakery! The place is clean and modern. They have a couple of tables if you want to have some of the fresh pastries right then and there which is what I did :) I had the chicken and beef pastry which were amazing. They also serve a wide variety of sweets, cakes and cookies which all looked good and fresh. I was so impressed that I also bought a box of cookies. I haven't come across a halal bakery like this in all of Toronto, highly recommended and I will be back again. Posted on November 3, 2010 |

★★★★☆ A very neat and clean bakery their samosas are just great so is their patties. Posted on April 17, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ I want to rave about their cleanliness. I want to rave about their chicken patties. I want to appreciate their halwa poori. But instead very unfortunately i will talk about their chai. The chai you get here for $1 is a a cup the size of a large tim's cup, half filled with boiling water and a lonely teabag. Cold milk and other condiments are available separate. For an establishment of this stature, one would expect atleast a decent cup of properly brewed tea to go with your breakfast. Posted on October 13, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Overall, good Pakistani bakery and sweets.
+ Very good chicken pattesse
+ Some sweets and bakery items are very good (e.g. Gulab Jamun, Samosas)
+ Looks clean and modern
OK Halwa puri/breakfast items
- Expensive Posted on April 26, 2009 |

★★★★☆ Their pastries are great and their meat and veggie patties are really good too (I only liked the beef, the chicken meat patties I thought were horrible). I have not tried their pakistani sweets since I only go there for the patties and pastries.
The breakfast is very good too although I think it is very overpriced as compared to other desi breakfast places.
The other downer is that there is this very short lady that is rude and has a depressed demeanour about her. She brings the whole place down.
Otherwise, its a must try (just avoid the rude munchkin, you'll know who she is when you see her). Posted on November 4, 2008 |

★★★★☆ picked their mithaai a few times; the taste is not consistent but due to limited supply of "pakistani sweet shops" the place is pretty good. Posted on September 24, 2008 |

★★★★★ I just love their vege patties and yes for sure their nashta is very good. You must visit this place its worth it the bring you all the bakery goods we miss from pakistan. Posted on May 30, 2008 |
