★☆☆☆☆ Please take a look your receipt before giving tip in Royal Jamsine. I have visited couple of times and never noticed before.
This restaurant not allowing to use credit card and charging 15% tip as "Service Charges" on top of your subtotal. Customer is not aware and when charge
debit card it asked tip option. I talked to manager and he confirmed me this service charges we are collecting as Tip and he said its mentioned our website.
I checked this restaurant website there is no information regarding 15% service charges. I am attaching screen shot as proof here. Please make sure and have a look your bill before payment. Posted on July 20, 2018 |

★☆☆☆☆ This used to be a good restaurant couple of years ago, the service has deteriorated over time and the food is no longer quality as it used to be. Also, the meat is no longer Halal or HMA certified. Avoid this restaurant. Not a true authentic Chinese restaurant. Posted on November 12, 2017 |
Dear Valued Patron’s of Royal Jasmine Mississauga.
We Serve Only Halal Meat! No non Halal ingredients. No alcohol served
Our Halal chicken is from Sargent Farms
Halal Beef is from St. Helens Meat packers
Both our suppliers carry valid Halal certification.
The same meat is also supplied by Sysco Toronto
We appreciate your concerns & questions and are more than happy to answer and provide documented proof on this matter so that you can have a more informed & educated opinion about us. Our most recent billing and inventory (none older than 2-3 days) is readily available at the restaurant and the valid halal certification of our suppliers.
Recently we have been the target of false rumours circulated by anonymous indiduals /organisation texting in whats app. Undermining the authenticity of our meat served in spite of all the transparent documentation available and provided at the restaurant.
I do not wish to speculate what motive or intentions are behind such people but We have been proudly serving the Halal eating community with transparency and greatly value our hard earned trust & reputation.
We are a family run business making a humble & honest living and would greatly appreciate if you share this information with family and friends.
The Family & team

★★★★★ Personal favourite for Chinese and Hakka food Posted on August 17, 2016 |

★★★★★ After looking for a decent Halal hakka restaurant since there was one in Brampton that were mixing halal with non halal meat when we found out, this one has made it to my list of favourite places. The manchurian chicken to my taste is made correctly, also ordered thai red chicken and chicken chow mein also great. The servers were accommodating. Posted on March 17, 2016 |

★☆☆☆☆ We visited this place yesterday accidently. We actually went to Kandhar Kabob only to find out that it was closed down because of renovations. When my wife saw this restaurant nearby, we thought to give it a try... and boy what a wrong decision we made. Over-priced menu items and below average taste is all I can say about it. It would be a shame to use the word "authentic" for this kind of food. Here's what we ordered and how we felt about the place. Chicken pakoras tasted below average. Chilli chicken had a less portion, tasted below average, and was not even looking fresh. Chicken fried rice and chicken chowmein had good sized portions but tasted below average. Our server had poor customer service skills with a spot face, no smile, no greetings i.e. hi, hello, thank you, welcome, etc. Overall hygiene and cleanliness of the restaurant was poor since we saw a few flies flying and sitting on the tables and windows. After all these things, 10% service charge on top of the bill was a big turn off. Honestly, I'm not promoting other places here but I have tasted much better hakka places in GTA. Very disappointing experience and definitely not going to return in future. Posted on November 2, 2015 |

★☆☆☆☆ Alert: This place does not have valid HMA certificate. Place seems to be owned by non Muslims which means they mostly likely wouldn't care for selling halal food. We just walked away from the restaurant. Posted on August 17, 2015 |
We are a family owned restaurant serving authentic CHINESE HAKKA FOOD(Indian style) operating in Mississauga for the past 7 years, proudly serving the Halal community, owned by real Hakka Chinese from Lucknow that is all you need to know. Regarding my religion or any of my employees it is absolutely personal!! The Halal meat we serve and the certificate on display you needed to only verify from our suppliers and also from the Halal certification authorities ( with a simple phone call) if they were still valid or not. |

NR Watch out, beef isn't halal n their kitchen isn't halal anymore. Posted on April 26, 2015 |
Hi Shahzad,
based on what facts are you stating that our kitchen or our meat is not halal?
Is it because we dropped our previous beef supplier and switched to Halal beef from st. Helen meat packers which is certified by the Islamic food and nutrition council of Canada.
We have always encouraged all our customers to not Just don't take my word for it when they come into our restaurant do ask our servers/ Staff for the most recent bill of our delivery for beef and chicken ( Sargent Farms) which certainly is not a couple of pounds and with the most recent delivery date. Certificates from the suppliers are on display at the establishment.
We have always worked transparently and openly on this issue.
Serving the community for over six years and choosing not to serve liquor in our establishment we have certainly made a name for our self as one of the few and truly transparent Halal establishment.
It certainly feels disappointing for some one to come by and post something like this.

★★★☆☆ i have tried almost everything on their menu. their yellow curry and beef bulgogi are all time favorites. the pad thai could use some work. i find their chicken has a very strong smell to it and it is def a turn off. don't ever get their crispy beef. i made the mistake to order that once and it was freezer burnt beef, rock hard, with sauce dripping on it. DISGUSTING! Posted on October 4, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Pretty good place for hakka Chinese food. We love their cashew chicken and manchurian chicken chowmein. Their chicken corn soup was also very good! They are extremely busy with plenty customers each time I've been there, which is always a sign of quality. Overall a good experience but it can get pretty loud on weekends! Posted on June 11, 2014 |

★★★★★ This is our favorite restaurant. I read the review 3 years ago where the name of waitress was mentioned too. Me and my wife went and asked for Helena. She served us and we are hooked to it. We are their regular customers, all waiters know where we would like to sit. Really a 7 start place.
Best food
Best Service
Best environment
Best Management
Most clean place
I would recommend all to go. I know NMK (Noor Mohammed Khan) very well, since I live in Mississauga, so its Zabiha Halal. Posted on February 4, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Craved hakka chinese food and not a lot (if any) places in Peel that offer this type of cuisine so heard about this place and gave it a try. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is fantastic. People there are very friendly as well. It can get quite noisy so better to ask for a table deeper into the restaurant than the mezzanine right beside the front door. Food came in at a good time and they do give quite a lot of it. I found that the food was okay and not really amazing. We ordered one rice, one chicken and one noodle dish. Everything was good except for the noodle dish "Bami Goreng", tasted like masala flavoured Maggie noodles so i dont recommend that. We also ordered the cashew ice cream and it was just 2 smalls scoops of vanilla ice cream, bosco chocolate sauce and cashews...Pretty boring. I found the place a little pricey as well, but I guess thats the norm now. I would definitely recommend, but go somewhere else for dessert. Posted on January 27, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Went here about a year ago for lunch with about 7-8 co-workers. We all ordered our individual meals.
>well flavoured
>nice large portions
>prepared fast
Definitely a repeat.
*****Not sure about bringing the family though based on some of the other reviews***** Posted on October 22, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Onetime experience ! Good quality food, served in reasonable time. Prices per dished acceptable. Friendly staff. Will recommend to others. Posted on March 22, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Time and time again, this restaurant is simply amazing - dishes out the same quality of good and mouth watering food. This is our go to place.
All the dishes are well prepared, however, at times it is hard to find chicken in the Hot n Sour soup - my recommendation would be to either make the chicken pieces bigger in size or increase in volume.
Overall, 4.5/5 stars for this place. Their thai dishes are very well prepared. Posted on October 25, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Service and food quality depends on how busy the restaurant is. Food is good. Lunch and dinner specials are both around $10. Posted on October 12, 2012 |

★★★★☆ I've been here a handful of times and tried pretty hard to make this my main go-to Hakka place in Mississauga but it just isn't quite up there.
Atmosphere wise, while it can get loud like any restaurant, the place is kept pretty clean and tidy.
Service is decent and most speak fluent English (huge plus for me).
Food wise it's average in my opinion with the other Hakka places around town. Quantity, as well as quality, is certainly not leaps and bounds better than the other many Hakka establishments.
Prices are at par with other competing Hakka restaurants.
In summary, atmosphere and service are good...food is average. Hence, the 4-stars. Posted on September 5, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ Have been going to Royal Jasmine for quite some time now and let me start by saying that I'm extremely disappointed with my most recent visit. The post below me expresses exactly what happened to me, with the Manager interfering with my order and messing everything up. It got to the point where we got so upset that we just paid for whatever we had ordered and left without ordering more (She lost easily over $60 worth of business for a $3 error). I will never eat here again and would say that if you like bad service then this is the place for you. Posted on August 16, 2012 |
I am very much aware of what occurred as I was personally present. When kids run around the restaurant unattended and on repeated request from our staff to keep them seated at their table is met but only for a while and then they are back at it again, this repeated request is considered as "interruption or interference" and points to the fact that we are a kid unfriendly restaurant then I have no more to say. Just as they came out for a good experience so did the other diners present on other tables. Kids being loud, throwing tantrums making a mess on the dining table and floor are all normal things something anyone of us can relate to as we too have kids. The "3 Dollar error" started with the order of 1 small soup which was cooked and "served on the table" which later on they wanted it changed to a large soup that comes with the family special and asked the server to take off the price of the small soup and integrate the quantity to the large soup with the family special price which was not possible for us to do so. My manager stated the reason to them which is because we "DO" cook each and every dish "fresh on order" it is not like some big pot of ready cooked soup where we just put it in a bowl and is served right away, if the order is not yet cooked we can surely accommodate, any order or adjustment after that is a fresh order and the same level of effort and labor goes into the preparation. That is the reason why for 2 1/2 times the price of a small soup we give 5 times the portion on a large soup, we save on labor and customers get more value in quantity. Not being able to understand our reasoning and wanting us to accommodate such a request at our peak hours otherwise they would leave, is what they chose to do so. Bad service in terms of forgotten orders, mix up, late or neglected service does seldom happen to us and so to even the best of restaurants, sometimes due to unfocused stressed out staff and some on circumstances beyond our control but given the opportunity and time we also go out of our way to rectify it.There wont be one single incident where my staff would be rude or disrespectful to our guest and they know all too well we do not tolerate any such kind of behaviour. There is a guest book on my website where customers can directly relate to me their good and bad experiences at our restaurant where I always get to the bottom of each and every incident. My staff or in fact my Management team is not hired to "Interfere" with the staff or customers we are here not only to serve the best of food but also to give the best of service with a friendly attitude, only motivated, polite and friendly staff make our team. |

★★☆☆☆ Had great experiences the last 2 times. Had a horrible experience this time. Went with out-of-towners for a special experience. And was horribly disappointed. One of the servers was either an owner or higher up in the chain, and he kept on interfering with the rest of his stuff.
We had kids with us - that was the reason. Definitely not kid-friendly.
I hope it was a one-off thing but there was no apology so I am hoping to not go back there. Posted on June 15, 2012 |

★★★★★ Excellent Halal hakka restaurant. Unlike most of the other hakka places they DO NOT serve alcohol which is a plus. The restaurant is quite big and the service was great. The food was amazing, fresh and large portions. I will return. Posted on August 30, 2011 |

NR Excellent service, good size serving, good taste. A lot of room to sit, Jasmine was able to accommodate 17 members of our family within minutes. Highly recommended. Asaf Posted on July 9, 2011 |

★★★★★ simply one of the best hakka chinese restaurant in mississauga. Restaurant interior is spacious and has good decor in my opinion. Menu is exquisite, as is the food. The staff is very proffesional and helpful. I started getting take out last year, almost every employee at my office is addicted to Royal Jasmine's menu.
The chef's know what their doing, would recommend it to everyone.
Best dishes in my opinion:
Manchurian Beef/Chicken
Karachi Chicken
Manchurian Hakka Chow mein
Chilli Chicken
Spicy Garlic Chicken Posted on May 13, 2011 |

★★★★★ There are quite a few Hakka places now in the west end which are Halal and they all have a very similar theme when it comes to the menu.
What sets this place apart is the fact they run some fantastic specials through the night and weekends. The food is pretty good as well. Have been there on numerous occasions and is liked by all. Posted on April 13, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Have tried many places around the GTA in a quest to find something as close to Pakistani Haka as possible. And this place comes the closest so far.
Service was quick and efficient, the food was awesome and the portions generous. We went on a weekend evening, not sure if it's any different on weekdays but don't think it would be.
The servers are well trained and not in your face as is the norm at many desi places. They leave you alone, yet make themselves available if they sense that you need something.
Fabulous desi hakka place in my opinion, if there are better places I'd love to hear about them. Have tried everything from Lin Garden to Luckys in Scarborough, but never could find any place as decent as this. Posted on April 12, 2011 |

★★★★☆ We've been there two times already. Service is great, food is excellent, and the place itself is clean and has a traditional and warm ambiance. Prices are average and reasonable and well worth the quality.
First time we went, it was a group of 14 for dinner, service was quick and quality was very high. Their soups are awesome.
Second time, it was only 3 for lunch, service was good once again, quality was good but not quite dinner level.
Will go back again inshaAllah
UPDATE Feb.5/2011: Had to reduce the rating from 5 to 3-1/2 stars. Their soup was really good, so I tried it to-go. It's a rip-off, to be honest. For the same price, you get about half what you would if you sat in the restaurant. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and tried it to-go a second time, same issue, about half the amount you'd get if you sat-in. Also tried their crispy beef, it crossed the line between crispy and solid. Had to send it back to get it de-crisped with more gravy, then it was edible. I'll give them one more chance before changing loyalty to Eddie's. Posted on February 5, 2011 |

★★★★★ Awesome food the crispy beef and the udon noodles were to die for .... Also a great appetizer was chicken lollypops ...yummm I hv eaten Chinese in many places but this beats all .... recommended 100% ... price is very reasonable which surprised me because the ambience is very nice ...
Chilly chicken not so gr8 ... Try something else Posted on January 15, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Among the better Halal Chicken restaurants in the city. The Entrees were excellent, the decor very nice (minus the Buddha statues). The dessert was quite bad, but I wouldn't use that as a reason not to visit. Recommended. Posted on December 19, 2010 |

★★★★★ Excellent FOOD quality and taste.. My sisters had been getting their 50$ Dinner Special for 6 items... Alot of my friends had been telling me that their Dinner offers/deals are much better than their Lunch offerings. So I would suggest others to check them out for Dinner Posted on December 8, 2010 |

★★★★☆ The thing that differentiates this form other Indo-Chinese eateries is the quality of service. I have eaten in over 50 desi/chinese restaurants in the GTA,but the service at this place is a cut above. The food is above average, and on par with some of the best ones out there. ★★★★★ Very Very good food. Best overall Chinese halal place in GTA. Their soup was outstanding. Their Chicken pakoras were very good. Manchurian chow mein not great but decent. The Udon noodles, sweet n sour chicken and beef chili were all very good. I can't wait to go back there. Best of all, staff was courteous and the chef came out to meet us. No alcohol and pork sold at the restaurant. Average price of $10 a person. Posted on October 12, 2010 |

★★★★☆ We had the sesame beef dish, which came with plain rice, and the hakka chicken chow mein. The food arrived pretty quickly and we enjoyed our meal. The staff was nice but the service could use some improvement, ex: the waiter should refill everyone's water glasses without being called to do so several times throughout the meal. ★★★★☆ I visited the restaurant soon after it first opened its doors. The setting is pretty decent and there are even sofas in the waiting area. The prices seem quite reasonable as well. However, I can't comment on the food as they told me that their chicken comes from Maple Lodge and the other meat from a vendor called "Fatima's". I encourage them to change to a hand-slaughtered only supplier and they said they would consider it, though the only time I followed up 3 weeks later they were still buying Maple Lodge. If more people call in asking for hand-slaughtered (real Zabiha) meat, they might see a point in changing. UPDATE: JULY 2010: Since I first visited them, Royal Jasmine has changed their meat supplier to "AM Meat(s)". I was given their number and I contact them to make sure that the meat was hand-slaughtered zabiha and not from Maple Lodge Farms. I have made numerous trips since and can easily say their food is among the most consistent and pleasant-tasting Hakka Chinese in the area. Posted on July 18, 2010 |

★★★★★ Royal Jasmine is indeed, in my opinion, the best Hakka Restaurant in town. Besides traditional Hakka cuisine, they also have Thai dishes which are also very good. My wife and I regularly visit the place and have never found anything to complain about. Their Sriracha Chicken is absolutely finger-lickin good. The quantities are also generous. ★★★★★ I finally managed to visit this restaurant, their sign board on Dixie & Aimco was stated as Halal authentic chinese hakka, so before paying them a visit I called them first to verify if it was truly Halal.
My call to the restaurant was forwarded to the owner who was very eager and helpful in providing me information and even gave me the number of their meat supplier which is " NMK Corporate on calling them it was confirmed to be Halal. The owner is a chinese born in Lucknow and could speak perfect urdu he even offered to show the Halal certificate.
The restaurant is very big, clean with nice decor, the seatings are widely spaced apart allowing for more dining privacy and private conversations are not easily overheard, they also have booths and back room sections for private parties and gatherings, a lounge with sofas in front with typical japanese lanterns hung around, gives a very warm feel to it.
Now the main part is the food we ordered chicken & shrimps hot and sour soup large, chilly chicken, manchurian fried rice, royal Hakka chopsuey and the boneless tandoori stir fry.The soup was excellent the chilly chicken in gravy was very good different from the other hakka in the Gta area we ordered xtra spicy and it was as we wished the gravy was really well spiced, but the manchurian fried rice that came had a slight over fried smell to it and the waitress waiting our table overheard my 6 year old son mentioning to me about it she promptly said it would be changed immediately in spite of my saying it was ok as it was not really that bad and at the time it was somewhat busy and all the other food was very good, any way within 5 minutes my fried rice was replaced and this time it was perfectly cooked we enjoyed it immensely, portions were generous and the pricing was very reasonable. The boneless tandoori is a must have at this place. The waiting staff is friendly and attentive and from my experience they take any issue seriously as the owner/cook even came out to greet and address the issue and apologised to us.Good food, good service, and a hands on approach by the owners on every issue will surely have us coming back to this restaurant. ★★★★★ This restaurant is the third time I have visited, first two time was due to my meeting at the branch office in the neighbourhood, my boss took me to lunch there ( his favourite lunch place) as I had no choice but to go along expecting it to be " just another Hakka joint" nothing special.
Though the restaurant was fully packed (I figure it has a seating capacity of over 100 people) the servers we're extremely friendly and attentive and the food was also exceptionally good in taste and quality. We shared chicken pakoras I had their hot and sour soup, chicken terriyaki, what I really liked was the variety and freshness of the veggies in it and for the price to match if I had eaten at the chain restaurant " terriyaki" I would have ended up paying double ( boss paid) .
My third visit was on Friday evening with my family as we live near downtown, the restaurant was not so busy as during lunch hours but we had the most enjoyable and relaxed evening with a good meal and a very pleasant conversation with the extremely friendly and polite server's too good a service for a Hakka Restaurant.
Till now I have liked everything that I have eaten.Thai cashew chicken, terriyaki chicken,
both with lot of fresh veggies as I have to watch my weight and shift more to veggie options than just to eat traditional hakka food chilly chicken, thai mango curry with chicken and shrimps, manchurian rice, karachi chicken & royal hakka noodle's which I managed to get some to eat from my children's order's which was very flavourful and tasty not too salty or greasy either.
I might have written a long chapter for this review but all in all for the price and the value/ service you get here far surpasses one's expectation's, at least for me. Well done and keep it up!! Posted on June 28, 2010 |
