★★☆☆☆ To my surprise it was just another Persian Afghan food and not Pashtun cuisine as the name suggest. We went to this place after getting attracted by the name "Khyber Kabab" and thought we found the first Pashtun Cuisine in GTA, but the owner is neither Pashtun, nor from Khyber, rather a Persian from Kabul, (Khyber is an area in North West Pakistan, dominated by Afridi, Shinwari, Shilmani and Mallagori clans of Pashtun diaspora). However I am a Pashtun from Khyber and I know my food.
So the owner doesn't know anything about Khyber, nor does he know the food belonging to Khyber. This restaurant is just another pure Persian Afghan cuisine, just as dozens of other Afghan restaurants in GTA.
The food was below average. If you know Afghan cuisine, you'd know what I am talking about. (New commers to Afghan cuisine wont find the difference) but you can taste similar or better food at any other Afghan restaurant (All Afghan food have same taste and same menu) only some cook better than others.
Service was bad to poor. He forgot that we ordered another dish, that we reminded him of and he didn't believe us, and after showing him the receipt and counting the dishes that we paid for, he only agreed to bring the dish when we were all done and left without eating it.
If you are in the vicinity and you are not an Afghan and want to check it out, sure, you wont feel the difference. Posted on July 29, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ I have been to this place a number of times. I returned because it was good food and service. It is a spacious restaurant, centrally located and open late.
However, the last time that I went things changed. We were a large group, serving took a long time (understandable) and I was surprised that some (it was some, not all) of the food was so uncooked it was red (and dangerous to consume). Someone spoke to the manager and was told that "these things happen; out of X number of people, only 2 people got some food that was uncooked." Well that's 2 people too many.
They are honest owners, who try hard, so if you like Afghan food (which is not that cheap) $12-15 per person, you should try this place,
especially if the place is empty, because then they will take the time to ensure your food is cooked well. Posted on May 8, 2009 |

★★★★★ This is among the best Afghan food I have tasted. My wife and I came across this restaurant and were both very impressed with the quality of food. I ordered the Sultani Kabob with rice and it was just AMAZING! To anyone planning a visit, I would highly recommend the Sultani Kabob with rice. If you have allergies to nuts like myself, you can request the meal without nuts. I recommended this place to my relatives who tried this restaurant and confirmed the great tasting food.
