★★★★☆ Had food from here yesterday for an Eid al-Fitr lunch with my parents. I was expecting the same taste as Bamiyan or Pamier but it was a bit different and delicious. We had chicken chapli kebab and they were tender and not spicy, the chicken breast chubks were great and you could taste the lemon juice sprinkled over them, the basmati rice was good and the tandoori naans & white sauce were awesome. The naans were so soft, large in size and they tasted even better when dipped in the white sauce. Not sure how much this all cost as someone else ordered & paid but the food quality was good. ★★☆☆☆ The featured review on this restaurant is posted by the owner and is written in the style of a patron??? Where is the objectivity of zabihah.com editors? Anyhow, we ordered one of the dinners (chicken breast kabob). The quantity of the rice was less than desirable. there was no nan as part of the dinner combo and the chicken was bland. This restaurant does not even come close to the well established ones like Bamiyan, Watan Kabob and Nan and Kabob. Best avoided!!! Posted on May 5, 2015

★★★★★ We came here after being disappointed by our first choice restaurant. Chopan was nowhere in our top five choices and yet here we found ourselves hoping to have a family lunch to celebrate my mom's birthday. The unassuming exterior wonderfully hides the mainstreamly decor within. There is space for regular sit down and dine customers and then the specialized tables that resemble a very caravan/majlis type of set up. We chose the former. Right from the ambience, to the pleasant and forever smiling waitress to the cleanliness and care was A-Okay in our books. The waitress tends to underplay the size of the food portions so just assume double the size of whatever she says. We ordered the family combo and soup and dumplings. OMG, this Afghan restaurant's dumplings reminded us of the stuff we made back home in South India. Pasanday anyone? The chicken soup was brilliant and the naans were part crispy and part soft...LOVELY! The family combo was a FEAST! So much rice and meat! We also had a very interesting ice cream called Sheeryakh just so we could boast to our coworkers on Monday. It was more than a pretentious dessert...it was pleasant and heavenly. I made the oddest request of getting the mango lassi to go because couldnt finish the pitcher right there and I had a craving for it. The waitress made it happen. She packed it in separate containers and made it to go. WHO DOES THAT? WHO ASKS FOR LASSI TO GO? Even if it is Mango Lassi. They're in it for the long haul. My mom said something she'd never said ever before for any restaurant. Her words were "We should come here more so. It was worth the long drive because the whole experience is good thanks to the food and the atmosphere. I love these day trip and dine things".
