★★★★ I did not see any "Halal" signs here, but I got written confirmation from the owners via email that they serve Halal meat. I tried the CTM (Chicken Tikka Masala), Veggie Rice, Daal, Samosa and Naan along with a Mango Lassi. The food was good, but pretty heavy. Portion sizes are pretty large. Drawbacks: Too many people behind the counter, and communication is not that good between them, so my order which was for dine-in, they started to pack to go. But otherwise the place looks clean and the service is friendly. Also no free chai (I guess I've become spoiled from other desi places). But I will probably be back for lunch sometime soon. ★★★★ Great new restaurant in McCarthy Ranch in Milpitas. Although owners are not Muslim, they verbally assured that all meat is Halal, and there is a sign in the window stating the same. Lotus is clean and offers a wide selection of Indian choices from dosa and biryani to chaat and Indo-Chinese dishes. The concept is similar to Panda Express where you pick a side, and 1 to 3 entree items. Restaurant is clean, the food is tasty, the portion size is generous, and the price is cheap. I got naan, chicken biryani, chili chicken (Chinese style), and a choice of curry under $8! I recommend. Posted on June 24, 2013
