★★★☆☆ have you ever had a feeling that someone is not telling you the whole truth?:) well... The Iranian person who was working there told me the meat is halal. They don't have any signs maybe that is because of many jewish businesses arond the area. And the owner may think that it might be bad for business. Or maybe they are not serving halal meat. I guess the only way to solve this problem is to have some Halal signs or halal certificate posted there. Posted on August 5, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ the owner of this place is afghani not iranian. if you ask him what zabihah means hes probably not going to know what you are talking about because desi's are the only people in the muslim world that use that term. the term is "halal" in arabic or in persian "zep'e eslami" (though persian speakers also know the arabic halal). zabiha in persian/farsi/dari/arabic means "slaughtered" and has absolutely no islamic connotation. this might not be the greatest restaurant in the world but maybe some respect should be paid to this afghan brother who spends the extra time and money to keep a place that we can eat at in business and at the very least dont call him an iranian christian or question his word for no reason. ★★★☆☆ Now I am worried. Please let me know about the Halal Authenticity.I ate there a couple of tim,es and there Lamb Kabob were good.I tried their Pista Ice cream but it was like eaiting a frozen bar of soap. Its comparitively expensive. If you are a fan of Seinfeld you cn find the Soup Nazi over there :) Posted on November 17, 2005 |

★★★★☆ Somebody please confirm that the owners are Muslims.., I went on Sunday evening .. There was no Halal sign, I asked the guy if he was Muslim, He said yes, But hesitatingly.. Then he added, " We get meat etc. from Halal store.." I asked why there is no Halal sign , He said.." Most of our customers donot care if the food is Halal" I didnt know what he meant by that..
As he said he was Muslim , and the food was Halal, I ate it..
The restaurant is good , neat and clean.. a little expensive.. and the food is good. The only thing is the verification of Halal food.. As in LA , there are many persian christians from Iran.. we need to take little extra care.. Posted on September 5, 2005 |
