★★★★★ I finally drove all the way to Long Beach, off of PCH last this weekend and let me tell you, it was well worth the drive and being stuck on Hwy-1 while driving through Huntington Beach. Let me get the bad out of the way first. This place can surely use an upgrade in terms of inside decoration and quality of furniture, flooring etc. The outside seating area is just fine. Now let me come to the food.... it is finger licking good. We tried the hand made noodle chicken soup, hot and sour soup to begin with. Both soups needed a little bit of Soy sauce and vinegar, to bring out the natural flavor, but once added... they were amazing. Some of the items that I would highly recommend is short ribs, an eggplant dish that I forgot the name of, garlic chicken with Chilli, Crispy fried chicken, black pepper beef, sesame bread, scallion pancake... everything that I tried was amazing. There was an explosion of flavor in my mouth with every bite. To top it all ... it is a halal restaurant. I used to miss Jamillah's Garden in Tustin but the owner, Jamillah is now running this restaurant. It is a bit pricey when you consider the inside ambiance but the food portions are huge. A party of 8 can easily be fed by ordering only 4 dishes. I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back soon. Posted on January 26, 2018 |

★★★★★ We ordered multiple items as we were a large group and to our surprise they brought us the food within 10 minutes and each and every dish was just too good. We ordered Short ribs, Mongolian beef, beef and broccoli, jalapeño chicken, orange chicken, chicken noodles and their hot and sour soup. Definitely the best chinese food I ever had in US. Large portions for a reasonable price, highly recommended if you are visiting southern CA. Posted on August 17, 2021 |

★★★★☆ This place is certified legit. Darn near everything I tasted was delicious. Both the hot and sour and chicken corn soups were delicious. The food comes out fast, fresh, and hot. The service is also friendly and attentive. Nomad rivals some of the best halal Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. This is a must try for anyone in LBC. I recommend. Posted on December 23, 2018 |

★★★★★ There are only a few restaurants which I would say "yes, totally worth an hour drive." This is one of them. My family has been going to Jamilla's restaurants basically since I was born -- first her Rosemead location, then her Tustin location, then Mas' in Anaheim/Fullerton, and now Nomad (all except the Tustin location I think are still open). This woman is basically the best chef ever. Everything she touches is gold. I can't tell which I prefer between Nomad and Mas. Nomad is definitely healthier and higher quality, but sometimes I miss the oiliness/greasiness of Mas. I really can't make up my mind between the two, both are excellent. If I have guests from out of town, chances are high I'll take them to either Nomad or Mas. If you haven't been to Nomad, go. Trust me, even if it's an hour drive, it's totally worth it. ★★★☆☆ Food was very good and authentic in taste and the restaurant is very clean and comfortable.
I was very irritated however by our server who kept wanting to take down the order almost as soon as we sat down and if that wasn't bad enough he didn't return after bringing the food to the table to check on us. We had to get up ourselves to fetch silverware, napkins and condiments. Posted on August 28, 2018 |

★★★★☆ Really big portions. 2 can eat off 1 plate. Orange chicken was good but could’ve been crispier/with more sauce, and the chicken chow mein was good as well. Would return again. Posted on July 4, 2018 |

★★★★★ My favorite restaurant in the greater Los Angeles area. I've been here multiple times and introduced so many of my friends to this great restaurant. My favorite items on the menu are Filet Mignon and Short Ribs. Definitely try their fresh pressed ginger. Posted on March 15, 2016 |

★★★★★ Delicious, delicious, delicious! Nomad is clean, well-decorated, service is good, and most importantly, the food is delicious and halal! It is on the pricier side for Chinese food, but it's also located in a nicer area than other halal Chinese places and the food is high quality, which makes it completely worth it! My favorites are the spicy 3 flavor noodle soup and the garlic jalapeño chicken. Worth the drive every time! Posted on March 8, 2015 |

★★★★★ Th food and the service was much better than Ma's for sure. We ordered Hot and Sour soup, Garlic Jalapeno chicken and Walnut shrimp, all were really good. Its a lot pricier than Ma's but that because of the area and service as well. Posted on August 29, 2013 |

★★★★★ Food was excellent. Loved the scallion pancakes and the pan fried dumplings, food is a little more expensive than Ma's Islamic, but probably has to do with the area. Posted on August 26, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Took me a while to find the restaurant as its off the main street in th eback of the plaza. Decor is very well done. The menu is is similar to Ma's but smaller and the prices are higher. The food was good and the service was good also..That being said as they only had been open a few days they were not that busy. We were 4 people in our group we had a large soup (smaller than Ma's) steamed rice and 3 dishes as well as 2 parathas and the bill with tip was $90. A few days before I had a party of 12 at Ma's and we ate a LOT more and the bill with tip was $125-130. A very good place and I doubt you'll get to wait for a table at least for the time being but if your on a budget then keep in mind the prices. Posted on May 9, 2013 |
