★★★★☆ If you are reviewing this restaurant, you already know that it offers one of the best tasting food in Karachi. The location is good with views of the ocean, specially at night when they turn on lights that cast beams into the sea underneath the wooden pylons that the deck of the restaurant is supported on.
The ambiance is good, specially if you go there for dinner. They are open late and close around 3 a.m.
This place is usually packed and sometimes the wait times can be 40 minutes to an hour. Some of the dishes/appetizers that I like are:
Appetizers: Kolachi house prawns, spicy Mexican wings, masala fries and Lahori finger fish... the best among all of them are the Lahori finger fish. I can eat that appetizer only and come back satisfied, it is that good.
BBQ Items: Malai Tikka, Chicken Behari boneless, mutton masla chanp and tandoori chicken.
Karahi & Haandi: Sulemain karahi, Makhni handi, tikka masala handi
One thing that I would like to mention is that the waiters, although very attentive need to be trained a little bit more by the management. The last time I was there a waiter assigned to our section would swing by every few minutes and start counting our Naans or parathas by uncovering the cloth they are covered with and counting them with his bare hands. He was not gentle about it and was really manhandling the bread. It was unhygienic as far as I am concerned as nobody I know would like other people touching any food on the table, let alone with their bare hands.
When I was leaving a manager showed up and inquired us about our dining experience to which I told him what had happened with the bread. He was apologetic but reacted too strong... walked with us all the way to our car and kept on apologizing. It felt rather forced and pushy, just like the waiter..... That is the only reason that I am taking one point away from the rating. By the way I forgot to mention that they accept cash only, which is kind of odd for a place with so much traffic and above average prices and clientele.
Overall, I would highly recommend the food at this place and would not mind going to this restaurant over and over again. Posted on April 5, 2018 |
