★★★★★ First of all, definitely all the food was halal. We asked the owner, letting him know we were Muslim, and he specifically said all the food was zabihah. He prayed Asr with us as well, so this is definitely a Muslim-friendly environment.
The food was fantastic. Our favorite was the peanut butter chicken. The rice was excellent, and the service was splendid. We're Chicago based, and can safely say that this establishment is much better than most of what you find on Devon. It's also a great way to try something new (ie. not Arab and Desi). ★★★★★ The location has been moved to 38th Street. 56th St. location has been closed. Called them prior to showing up and I was assured the food is halal. Met the owner myself and and he re-assured firmly. Tried jerk chicken and it was delicious, quantity was ample and nice seating arrangements. Would recommend if you haven't tried African food before Posted on April 11, 2016 |

★★★★★ We were looking forward to trying something new and different. We were very pleased with our choice of coming to Jiallo's. The food was incredible. The owner/Chef (Jiallo) and his staff are extremely friendly. We especially liked the Peanut Butter Sauce dish and the Ginger drink. We will definitely come back next time we are in Indy.
Mods: They are in a new location. The new address is 5130 W 38th St. Posted on October 25, 2015 |

★★★★☆ Used to eat here all the time when his food was actually zabiha. He recently opened up another restaurant in Circle Center Mall a few months back and had his signs all labeled "Halal" he has since then removed those signs. We asked the lady there why they have done so and she replied that they had changed distributors and that their food is "halal, but not zabihah halal." I didn't ask if their main restaurant on 56th street was the same way or not since I was disappointed and frankly scared to hear what their answer would be. Service was usually slow, bathrooms looked scarey yet always reeked of bleach, but their food was top notch. I am disappointed to say that I will not bring my family to eat there until they fix their halal but not halal food supplier. Posted on February 5, 2015 |

★★★★★ The service is excellent. The jerk chicken is the best I have ever had! Halal jerk chicken is not easy to find, and quality jerk chicken at that! This is the only halal place in Indy that offers steak!!! Our server, sis. Amina was very professional and nice. Parking is adequate. Ambience is a bit boring, and lighting could be better. Our server advised to call an hour or so in advance if planning on steak. Posted on October 8, 2012 |
