A halal certificate is clearly visible on the premises of this restaurant. Paramount Butcher Shop works directly with local farmers to ensure that only the highest quality meat reaches our guests. We believe that great tasting meat starts with naturally fed animals that are bred in a healthy environment. We offer healthy options: only the best of prime beef, dry-aged beef, chicken, lamb, poultry, veal, goat, an assortment of deli meats, and the option for special cuts upon request. All of our meats are Ontario-raised and of the highest quality. The Halal process of hand-slaughtering is an abuse-free process. Our animals are not given hormones or growth-promoted additives and are allowed to grow at a natural pace, living with low-stress, and a healthy life. As a result, our guests consume meats that are far healthier than our competitors.

★★☆☆☆ After hearing recommendations and reading very positive reviews, I finally decided to check this place out and order from here. Inside the restaurant, it looks quite impressive with a very clean and organized interior. The wood oven gets me excited. The large menu looks promising, and I'm anticipating a mind-blowing meal that will have my taste buds dancing. However once you realize how much you're paying for the food and the taste and quantity of the meat, it's a huge disappointment! I ordered 2 chicken shawarma plates that ended up costing almost $30. I wouldn't mind so much if most of the food wasn't filler. 4 pitas and a whole lot of rice and lettuce. The chicken was scarce and had hardly any flavour. You would think a chain restaurant would have lower prices than an individual family-run place, but that's not the case. Overall, I don't see what all hype is. This place is a bunch of glamour and glitz with very little substance. Posted on April 24, 2015 |

★★☆☆☆ The food at this restaurant used to be very good but the quality and flavour has really gone downhill over the past year or so. The last few times we ate there, the meat was flavourless and very dry as if it had been sitting there for a long time, the rice was over-cooked and lacked salt, and the whole meal was dry and tasteless.
It seems like they are using different spices than they used to to season the meat, because it doesn't have the same good flavour as it did, and they are using less seasoning so it is quite bland.
It's quite disappointing that the food no longer tastes as good as it did. This was our favourite restaurant for years, but we won't be going back there unless they bring it back to its former quality. I hope that it is only this Paramount whose quality has declined, and not all of them., because Paramount has always been our go-to halal restaurant.
On a positive note, it is always clean and the staff are courteous, and there is a prayer room available. Posted on April 2, 2015 |
