★★★★☆ Stopped in here for some meat since I was in the area. Small place but friendly service at reasonable prices. I got 2 lbs lamb, 2 lbs ground beef and a whole chicken cut up in pieces all for under $30. I also ordered some flour. I asked for white flour but the guy gave me wheat instead. Other than that it was a good experience. There is a small kabob place next door but didn't try it out. Posted on December 21, 2010
★★★★☆ Better alternative to Maiwand Mkt. The person cutting the meat is atleast communicative. As the place is small they have large quantities of meat. And ofcourse you have the Gyros/Steak place next to it. Another reason to go there Posted on September 14, 2004
★★★★☆ I loved the store. It was very neat, clean and tidy as well as nefty if I may say. The Restaurant next door is quite handsome and a great place to dine and have a jolly old time. The restaurant is also halal and serves Afghan cuisine. The Qabli Kabob is very delicious with or without raisin or carrots!
The Kitchen was very tidy and clean but the place is very small yet elaborate with Persian Art. Even waitress was kind and veiled and she was on our feet the whole time giving us valuable service. It feels like both the store and the restaurant team together to do Business! Posted on January 15, 2004

★★★★★ Damavand is an Iranian/Afghan-operated grocery store selling typical Persian groceries, fresh Afghan naan and zabihah meat. The store is clean and hospitable, more so than its nearby competitors Pamir Market and Maiwand Market. Right next door is Fremont Pizza, a halal restaurant serving Afghan cuisine as well as pizza.
