★★★★★ Before the end of December I wanted to visit Sammy's Steak and Smoke House in Franklin Square to take advantage of their discount offered to our group. Address 976 Hempstead Turnpike Franklin Square, Ny Review: Parking is limited in the front of the restaurant, drive behind it and they have a large parking lot. The restaurant was smaller than I thought it would be. Holds around 20 people. Food Cheese fries with jalapeno - ordered for a kid 9/10 - excellent fries, they were coated and crunchy. The spicy cheese sauce and jalapenos were amazing. Fried Chicken Leg - 5/10 the leg was huge and cut into two pieces the leg and thigh. Too big of a piece so eating it was difficult. I would have preferred a few smaller pieces instead. Would have been easier to eat. Taste was fine. Chicken Sandwich 10/10 really enjoyed it. Got the fried and salad as the sides. The fries as mentioned above are a home run. The salad, I ended up not even trying because I was so full. Short Ribs - 9/10 it is a lot of food to be honest. The meat falls off of the bone. Nicely flavored not overly soaked in bbq sauce. Was a hit. Just a lot of meat. Chicken Fingers/nuggets - my favorite item on the menu 10/10 what made this dish is all of the different types of sauces they have. From the honey one, to the two spicy bbq ones. The steak sandwich - no review I did not try it. Forgot to get the review from my sister. All in all this place is excellent. Their pricing is a bit better than similar restaurants and the food was really really good. Going to be in my regular rotation from now on.
