NR Salaam, Thank you for all the comments, unfortunately we can't understand why people lie on this forum. On Saturday 29th December 2012 MYA Restaurant was very busy, a birthday party was held, and around 45 people attended the party, the rest of the tables were reserved for customers. We were fully booked that evening and we had no persons matching the name of Shuj (Jan 5th) in our diary. Everyone in the party and those who reserved for a meal enjoyed their food, the ambience on that night was as expected. Both Thai and Indian food was served. We will upload some photo's from that night, as the party had professional photo's taken. If this was true comment from Shuj, we at MYA Restaurant would be more than happy to apologise. Thank you. ★☆☆☆☆ I went here last weekend with 2 friends, very excited given the reviews. Sadly I think they have faked their own reviews as I was very disappointed. Staff were rude and not very attentive, food tasted pretty bland (apart from the nan!), the quality of the meat just wasn't there, maybe even yesterday's and the portions were pretty small. It was quiet and certainly not a great ambience to be in on a Saturday night. I wouldn't go again and I don't think you should base your visit on the reviews on this site or any other. ★★☆☆☆ we had high expectations from this place following the previous reviews but found the restaurant to have no ambience. service was poor. portions were small and a little too expensive. it was cold. the bill was presented in a child like manor, written on a piece of a4 paper and illegible. when we complained little was dont despite there being on average 4 waiters to every table. ★★★★★ i went to mya with my wife, for her birthday and we had a very nice time, the food was lovely, for staters we had a mixed kebab and chicken tom yum soup, then for main we had lamb madras with pila rice and a thai beef stir fried dish with fried rice which was the best indian or thai food me and my wife have ever had and it was all in one restaurant. staff were also very friendly and the restaurant was very clean and romantic. we will be going again soon! ★★☆☆☆ We went to this restaurant after reading the reviews and we were dissappointed. I took my wife 1 yr old son to try this restaurant. On enterance the restaurant had a very romatic atmosphere which we liked. We asked the waitress if they had a high chair for my son and they said no. On ordering drinks we asked for a straw and they didn't have any. Then we ordered the starters my one looked very nice and looked tasty. But my wife had an extra, hair. NR This restaurant is very modern and clean - I was very impressed. However, poor customer service let it down. After taking our orders, the waitress asked if we wanted popadums and we asked if they were complimentary or had to be paid for. She said it was free. When she brought popadums and plate of chutnis, she said popadum was chargeable and chutnies were free - on checking bill - both had been charged for so obviously kicked up a fuss. The food was nice but either waitress not knowledgeable or deliberately trying to conn. Don't let that put you off - just clarify what's chargeable and what's not. Its quite a shame we had this experience as mentioned before, the decor/ambience is really nice. Posted on November 9, 2008
