★★★★★ I seriously love this place. Check out my YouTube video review on Halal Digest for full review of the crab Rangoon, beef fried rice, orange chicken, mangolian beef and Manchuria chicken(with sauce) Posted on October 1, 2019 |

★☆☆☆☆ This place should get a zero for the quality of their food. Posted on September 25, 2015 |
★☆☆☆☆ We went there at 3 as they were suppose to be open at 3pm but there was a hand written sign that said open 5pm, we went back at 5:30 and the waiter said that we are close for another hour. Very unprofessional people. Posted on August 3, 2015 |

★★★☆☆ Good fried rice. Good soup. Ok appetizers. So so gravies. Average overall. Posted on December 22, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ WARNING CONTAINS ALOT OF MSG!!! (May Cause Headache And Palpations)
Food Is Inconsistant!! Visited It Twice In A Recent Trip To Chicago, Once It Was Good And The Other Time It Was A Complete Bust!!
Service Is Average For A Desi Place, They Gave Us The Wrong Soup And Instead Of Taking It Back, The Waitress Attempted To Sell Us The Wrong Soup!! "It Is So Good You Should Keep It" Posted on June 7, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ I visited this restaurant for the 1st time and I am sad to say that very disappointed not only with the quality of food but also poor customer service. Food taste and quality was below par and we were literately forced out of the restaurant b/c they wanted to make room for new customers while we in half way through our meal only 10 mins after we entered this facility. Surely I am not visiting this place again. Posted on March 3, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ Food quality deteriorated over the years. Was good before but now it's not as good. Gravy items just have water and corn starch added, no particular flavor. And, their food is too oily just like you would get if you ordered any Pakistani cuisine dish. Posted on January 24, 2013 |

★★★★★ OMG I LOVED THIS PLACE! Everything was sooo good! I loved the hot and sour soup that we got with shrimp and everything else was delicious. I wish they would open one up in Virginia.. I have been dreaming of going back since I went. Posted on December 15, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ Worst service, Stinky and rotten food, bad attitude.
Why this restaurant is there and why people dine here. Me and my 4 years old son is sick since the day we eat at this restaurant. It is a worst Chinese restaurant i have ever been. It is not a restaurant at all specially not Chinese. Don't ever think going to this place. Go to McDonald and eat fish burger it will be better than Usmania Chinese.
I ordered
Hot n sour soup
got served with a pink corn starch curry with a stinky smelly chicken in it.
Ordered: Szechuan Beef
Got served: Beef with tamarind sauce sorry with tamarind curry.
Ordered Kong pao Chicken
Served: Chicken with vegetable and uncooked peanuts. Posted on November 5, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ This is the worst chinese food ever!!
It is not chinese at all. I had to bear eating it at a couple of weddings. I just wished I hadn't come to these events. The dishes have gobs of corn starch - big lumps of it. Eveything tastes the same. The sauses are thick with corn starch. They look dark and unappetizing. The fried rice is mushy and dull looking and tasting. It is just disgusting!!
Please have some pity on your guests and do not order from this restaurant for any event. Please!! Posted on July 8, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ we ordered prawn fried rice, Mongolian beef and spring chicken.Food was average taste but it was served promptly and the prices are fine. Restaurant was fairly clean. Posted on July 5, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ Usmania has got this little block of Devon street sewed up with 3 different restaurants. Too bad their food is only average, at best. If you've ever had halal Chinese in DC or the Bay Area, this place will disappoint. Posted on June 22, 2012 |

★★★★★ they owns Italian, USMANIA and USMANIA Chinese, They saying it halaal but they are not selling halaal they selling restaurant depot chicken and they are hiding with customers. Allah is Watching and Even we have our own responsibility to verify about Halaal source, we are just eating and they are making money and they became blind of doing such act. everyday 100s of people eat in USMANIA and we feel glad if a muslim brother do good business and grow his business fast but why they are cheating don't understand, we are muslim eat that food only which consider halaal, Please USMANIA charge more but please serve Zabihah Halaal not machine slaughtering chicken or meat. Allah is watching dont forget it. Posted on April 26, 2012 |

★★★★★ Enjoyed the food. Ordered Schwann chicken and Mongolian beef.
Good taste. The hot and sour soup was good . Service was prompt and friendly . Posted on March 25, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ I was sad to see that they treat their employees very badly. and insulted the employees in front of the customer for no reason. Posted on March 18, 2012 |

★★★★★ This place was great. Had their sesame chicken and chicken egg rolls, both were delicious. The place has great abmiance and the staff was courteous. Posted on January 25, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ I'm originally from Toronto where we have many halal Chinese restaurants. Recently moved to Cleveland which doesn't have good halal Chinese so I was really excited to try this place. The place is nice, clean, and staff is very friendly. I got take out, so I'm not sure about table service, but the guy at the counter was very polite and helpful. I told him it was my first time and if he could recommend some dishes. He recommended the manchurian chicken dry and orange chicken. I ordered the manchurian chicken and also got Mongolian beef (as my husband prefers beef to chicken). Also got fried rice and Hakka noodles. Chicken was decent, not the best. Beef was ok as well. I don't think I would come back here if I came to Chicago again. I'm not saying it was bad, just not really good either. Posted on October 18, 2011 |

★★★★★ I had a very picky person with me and does not care for Chinese food. However, now he is hooked, specially sesame chicken. Thanks for wonderful experience. Prices were reasonable with healthy portions. I wanted Pakistani food they brought it over from their other desi Usmania across the street. Great service. When I visit Chicago again I will plan to revisit with more friends. Posted on July 12, 2011 |

★★★★★ Hands down, the best Chinese food I have ever had. Orange Chicken is excellent. The decor is great and Service is also. I came with my family, about 10 people. Enjoyed everything. Posted on July 10, 2011 |

★★★★★ I visited many years ago and did not like the food - visited again last year and am hooked! We went as a family and every one of our 6-8 dishes were fantastic. We really loved the orange chicken, szechuan beef, chili chicken, and the chicken pakoras. Posted on June 27, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ People love their chinese but i did not find it tasty...May be because it was far different from the pakistani-chinese version im am habitual of eating! Posted on April 20, 2011 |

★★★★★ This is the best and most authentic Indo/pak zabihah chinese restaurant in Chicagoland. The food is excellent. The service is prompt and courteous. The food portions are huge. Therefore, get a few dishes and share. The orange chicken is my favorite. I have tried literally everything else on the menu and you simply cannot go wrong. Enjoy! Posted on November 27, 2010 |

★★★★★ Very good food, malai chicken and Nihari are mouth watering. Service is great, owner himself visited and asked If we needed something.
Last Ramadan we did catering from usmania, all items were in right quantity and everything was cooked very well. Posted on October 15, 2010 |

★★★★★ First of all, this place is busy.. I mean extremely busy…. When I went there, I was told there is a forty five minute wait.. The only other place I had to wait so much was either cheese cake factory or the Halal gyro cart in New York on fifty third st…. The owner was very nice. He apologized for the wait and gave us some free pakoras to break our fast and made sure we got good service…. The food was good… We loved chicken noodles and chili chicken… I will definitely go back Posted on September 6, 2010 |

★★★★★ I don't know why people don't like this place. I think it's amazing, sure it's busy and service is slow, buts that's to be expected in downtown Chicago, on Devon street. Try the Orange Chicken, I think its their best dish. Posted on September 2, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ Asalaam Alikum, Went there for lunch with 3 other people, the prices were reasonable. Crab rangoons were probably the best I have ever had, but it went downhill from there. All 4 of us ordered a different entree and all of them tasted the same, loaded with soy sauce and very oily. I don't think I will be coming back to this place, not impressed. Posted on July 24, 2010 |

★★★★★ This place is definitely a Halal Must - 100% Chinese Halal - The food was amazing. They use halal soy sauce etc.. and the a wide variety of dishes. I dont know what some of the users are talking about - they have a chinese chief and the food tase great. Def. Recommend! Posted on July 11, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ very disappointing " chinese" food. food was no where close to it. most of people from subcontinent like to eat chinese with desi touch but even that part was very disappointing. Wont go there again. Posted on June 21, 2010 |
★★★☆☆ The food was ok. It's not very Chinese. Doesn't come anywhere close to really good Chinese/Indian or Hakka style food. Meh! Posted on May 6, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ The food was alright. I had crab rangoon which i did not like; fried rice and chicken manchurian which were ok. I would say SO SO Posted on October 12, 2009 |

★★★★★ Great place, for those like myself who are sick of eating only the seafood portion of regular chinese resturants, this is an excellent place. I think the chef is from china. The tast might not be exactly authentic chinese but still a great trade off being halal and all.
Sweet and sour chicken, manolian beef, crab rangoon are some of the recommended items. Ant no, they don't serve naan if you are wondeing like I was. Posted on September 3, 2009 |

★★★★☆ I will admit, I was pleasantly surprised by Usmania's chinese food. It didn't taste the same as chinese food typically prepared by non-desis, but it was also very decent and tasty. I ordered a dish with medium spice and it was pretty spicy - just a heads up to people who may not be able to tolerate spice well. Overall, a pleasant experience and I will go back. Posted on June 27, 2009 |

★★★★☆ I love dropping by this place whenever I am in Chi-town. Great food for reasonable prices. Posted on May 31, 2009 |
★★★★★ Not authentic Chinese food, as it has been desi-fied, so if you're looking for spicy Indo-Pak influenced Chinese food, then this is the place to go. The dishes are served spicy unless you request that they prepare it mild. The portion sizes are great, as they usually serve 2 people, and leftovers taste just as good, if not better. I've had the Sesame Chicken, Beef Hakka Noodles, Kung Pao Chicken, and Manchurian Chicken, which are all pleasing to the palate. The Chicken Corn Soup lacks in chicken and corn, but the flavor and taste is good. The spring rolls are really good, and the fried rice is amazing. You won't be disappointed. ★☆☆☆☆ Salam,I wanted to come in with my family for good zabihah halal food. So I called to see where they buy there meat from. I asked them they said they buy it from Awami and Mehrab. I called theese two grocery stores to ask they both said NO.So I called them again and told them that theese two stores said no they dont buy food from us. So I called Usmania again and talked to them and they said "NO WE DONT SELL HALAL FOOD SO COME IF YOU WANT" and they hung up on me.for youre own confirmation please call and ask they will minupulate you but dont fall for it. So This Restaurant Does Not Sell Halal Meat. Posted on December 28, 2008 |

★★★★☆ Good food, not a real chinese restaurant but if you like Indo-Pak Chinese food then its a great place. Our food wasn't too spicy and the portions were huge. One entree was enough for two people. The service wasn't great but thats not what I go to Devn for anyway. recommend it Posted on September 1, 2008 |
★★★★★ I was skeptical when my parents first brought me here but now I am sold! I love their unique mix of Chinese food that has a desi kick to it. They should market it as fusion. Other than the parking issue, it's a great place. Posted on September 1, 2008 |
★★★★★ Their food is more like indo chinese mix. Except one waiter others seem to not know that they r supposed to be waiting. But no doubt its some good halal chinese food on Devon. Dishes I would personally recommend are Spring Chicken, Chicken Rangoon, Sesame Chicken, Chilly Chicken, & their Schezuan Chicken is just too good. Maybe not an excellent service but def. excellent food. Posted on May 6, 2008 |

★★★★★ Very good food, and the quantity is huge. Highly recommend this place - the best part is - it's got parking at this resturant!! Posted on February 22, 2008 |

★★★★☆ Accross the street from the main Usmania. The food was ok but it was not clear if it was Indian or Chinese food. I don't think that any other Chinese restaurant ever uses this much spice in their food. Clean environment. Posted on January 7, 2008 |
★★★★☆ Located across the street from their main Indo/Pak Usmania restaurant. Food and quantity is good but it is overpriced. My family of 4(wife and two kids) ended up spending close to 50 dollars for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and drinks. Service is friendly and average sized restaurant for devon. If you go on the weekend, expect to wait since it is quite busy and 1 of only 2 zabihah restaurants on devon. Posted on August 15, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Great food, our kids enjoyed it alot. Beef dishes are tender and tasty. Posted on July 24, 2007 |

★★★☆☆ I tried two items from this restaurant and it wasn't that great. I felt like they couldn't make up their minds whether they wanted to serve desi food or chinese food. Posted on July 17, 2007 |
★★★★★ This place is amazing! The food is really spicy, so you have to ask for mild (and it is still very spicy. Spicy is unbearable, although the staff say that people put chilly paste on their food even when they ask for spicy, which I will never understand). This is across from the Usmania restaurant (owned by the same group), but is 10 times better. Probably the best Chinese food I have ever had. Usmania Spring Chicken is amazing! The staff is really nice. They always strike up a conversation, and always check to see if things are going well. Very accommodating. The atmosphere is semi-formal, and kid friendly. I recommend going there. I usually take people who are going to Devon for the first time to Usmania Chinese. Posted on April 19, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ not recommended at all....every thing was very very spicy and taste wasn't good at all...the chinese taste was missing in all the chinese food Posted on April 6, 2007 |
★★★★★ The orange chicken from this place is amazing to my expectations, probably because ive never eaten it before, but i loved it, it can get quite expensive though, expect to spend 20 dollars a person excluding drinks (20 dollars if u get appetizers or 2 entrees) but i found it amazing, i go there alot. Although, there is one thing, they need a few more waiters that can understand english. Posted on January 7, 2007 |
