The owners of this restaurant are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status. From the management: 'Some of the time our steak and Barbocoa are halal. It all depends on our supplier keeping up with demand. Your readers can call ahead and check for that day.'

★★★★☆ Originally from Texas, which i heard is very popular and staple there! This place is truly fresh. They have veggie, fish and shrimp on their menu, and now for the yummy part, their Barbacoa is HALAL!!!! verified twice, once via manager and then with the server/employee there. Their tortillas and gorditas are HANDMADE FRESH, right infront of you, old mexican lady in the back rollin and throwin'em on the grill, reminded me of grandma. Very tasty, a bit on the high side, i downed the 3 tacos in a zippy. Definitely will come back here again, really good food, ingredients and really nice sauces that give you a kick! ★★★★★ Habanero also has locations in North Bridge and Merchandise Mart. However, their Riverside location has an amazing chef who is revamping the menu. Chipotle-style, fast casual. Fresh ingredients, plenty of choices and flavors that wake up your mouth. For cooler days, you must try the Cazuela. It's a delectable soup with rice, beans, tortilla strips. You can add the fish or barbacoa. For a quick bite, have the soft tacos and then have freshly made churros for dessert. Highly recommended. Posted on August 20, 2014 |
