1445 West Taylor Street, Chicago, IL 60607
Couscous is located in the University Village neighborhood where Chicago students mix with staff from the nearby medical facilities, close to downtown area. Middle Eastern-style decor and music will set the mood for a very pleasing dining experience. The restaurant is cozy and the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. Enjoy a multitude of wonderful Middle Eastern dishes. Try the Couscous; which can be done in vegetarian, chicken, lamb and fish versions. Many of the dishes are prepared in the style of Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. If you love falafel, hummos, kebabs and tabbouleh, you will enjoy the great renditions of these dishes and the decent portions at affordable prices. Enjoy the homemade lemonaide, juices, tea and Turkish coffee. Prices are extremely reasonable. Take a taxi or drive. Street parking is available. Master card and Visa are accepted. Couscous has opened a second restaurant location on Chicago's Northwest side. Visit us at 3144 N. Narragansett Ave. We are open daily for breakfast, 7 am - 10 pm. ★☆☆☆☆ Sells non halal non Zabihah meats under the false premise of it being permissible. Don’t believe me. Just ask for yourself and see. I don’t know how he’s still in business. Disgusting restaurant. Found a dead in my food too. Posted on January 18, 2020 |

★★★☆☆ The lamb had a lot of fat and bones in it. The meat tasted over-spiced, not spicy, but over-spiced. The rice didn't taste flavorful at all but after everything, it is a very nice atmosphere in which you need to choose your food wisely. Posted on October 18, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ The owner/Arab uncle treats all nonWhite customers with belittlement that exemplifies his inferiority complex. I will never set foot on this restaurant again. Just one example when you step into his restaurant and a white customer comes in after you he totally ignores you and caters to the white customer first. Posted on February 24, 2011 |

★★★★☆ We went here and got a chicken tikka sandwich and beef kabob entree as well as the falafel. The falafel was honestly some of the best we ever tasted, and while the sandwich and entree were good they definitely ran a bit on the bland side. We also liked that they gave generous amounts of this yogurt/salad mix. Pretty good if you are in the area. Posted on April 5, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ Food is ok. Went there once, and even though I live a few blocks from there, I've never gone back. On the other hand, the people are nice, and they re very helpful in letting you know what is zabihah/halaal on the menu (the lamb). Posted on January 10, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ This Middle Eastern food is okay, but it's cheap. For the price, it's decent food but defin not my favorite. The owner is nice, but when we order a large quantity for a school event, it's usually late. Check it out for yourself. Posted on September 1, 2008 |

★★☆☆☆ did not think that the restaurant was good, first it is a middle eastern and tunisian restaurant the tunisian food is not well prepared at all I had a slata mechouia and i was desapointed. the service was very slow it took more than an hour to prepare our food and I thought that the resturant was not very clean. unless it changed i will not recommend it. unfortunately there is no other places to eat tunisian food in chicago. ★★★★☆ A small Middle-Eastern/Moroccan Restaurant in the heart of the Taylor Street restaurant district (by University of Illinois at Chicago). Overall good food and service. The owner is very hospitable and generous. Worth checking out. Posted on May 27, 2002 |
