★★☆☆☆ I came here on a Friday night and chose it over the Red Lobster down the street. I actually regret my choice and don't agree with all the good reviews here.
I had Lumpia Goreng (beef egg rolls) as an appetizer and Sambal Goreng Ayam (hot, spicy chilli chicken) as my entree. The egg rolls were good. The chilli chicken was certainly spicy; what do you expect from a dish with 3 different adjectives in its name to describe spicy? The problem is that it arrived way too fast and did not taste fresh at all. It tasted like extra spicy microwave reheated Indian butter chicken from yesterday. Ironically, it's the dish the owner recommended to me. I guess they had made too much of it the day before and were offloading it on to whoever they could.
Friendly staff though and a nice little family owned place. Too bad the food is below average. Posted on October 4, 2014 |

★★★★☆ The food was good but not the same taste as what you get in indonesia. But I guess something is better than nothing.
The only qualm I have with the place are the prices, kinda expensive. Posted on June 28, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Indonesian Kitchen has original dishes. I liked their ginger beef, noodles and soya sauce chicken. The BBQ chicken was interesting and had a nice lemon aftertaste. The service was polite and efficient. Posted on November 28, 2012 |

★★★★★ Simply one of best. Their Coconut soup is MUST TRY. Hot chicken was very good, so were noodles. Staff is courteous. To have dinner there was real delight Posted on November 15, 2012 |

★★★★★ Couple of things to start: For Zabihah admin, this place is no longer in Penbrooke Plaza. There is also a website for this restaurant: www.indonesian-kitchen.com. This restaurant is very small and beautiful. It captures the feeling of Indonesia. The staff is warm and friendly and the food is very good. The Soto Ayam soup is truly a coconut delight, one of the best I have ever tasted. The Ayam Bakar is done with the classic Indonesian BBQ dark sauce and the Sate Kambing (lamb) was very tender and juicy. I just love the linger taste of lime and the gentle infusing of ginger, lemon grass and tumeric flavors. Our evening was very easily a beautiful experience. Keep up the good work! ★★★★★ This restaurant is amazing, not only is the food authentically scrumptious but the service is very warm and inviting!
We tried the Rendang, a superbly tasty coconut curry beef dish and really the only word to describe it is purely EPIC WIN. The Ayam Goreng Ibu Sari, (Indonesian Style-Fried Chicken) was not only tender but positively flavorful. Their Mie Goreng is a must try item!
So pleased with this experience, I will definitely come back!
Also they seem to have many parties, so it's best to make a reservation beforehand. Posted on April 11, 2012 |

★★★★★ Absolutely the best Noodles (Mie Goreng) in the city!
For Appetizers we even tried the Singkong Goreng (Cassava), I hadn't had cassava since I was a boy.
This restaurant is truly a "diamond in the rock", very clean and very decorative - almost takes you to Indonesia (ambiance). We had the BBQ Ayam Rica-Rica (BBQ Chicken richa-richa), it was nice and spicy with a good tinge of lime flavour. The ginger beef was one of the best we tried. All in all great place, great food and really good people. The owners are known Muslims in the City. Br. Haseeb was, for many years, the Administrator of the Calgary Islamic School and his wife is Indonesian. She is the one who runs the restaurant. Posted on April 9, 2012 |
