★★★★★ I went with a friend of mine and we ordered chicken/beef gyro and totally enjoyed it! It was FRESH/HALAL and we didn't have to wait for a long time! I will definitely be going back to try other delicious halal items they offer!!
Also they make awesome bubble teas. I got watermelon flavor and it was super yummy! Posted on December 16, 2014
★★★★☆ This is a partial-halal take-out deli/convenient store located in the Norwood neighborhood of north-central Bronx. At the time of this writing, the restaurant menu is being printed, but the deli is serving halal chicken and rice, chicken sandwiches, and more. The deli does serve non-halal Boar's Head deli meat (none of which is pork), and it is unclear how stringent the separation of halal/not-halal products is. Though this reviewer is leery of partial-halal restaurants, he acknowledges the realpolitik of this deli's location in a largely non-Muslim neighborhood. Plan for take-out; there's one chair in the deli and you probably won't be sitting in it. Parking is available in the street, but given the parking-by-Braille tradition in NYC, leave the 1967 Lancia Fulvia at home.
This reviewer consumed the Punjabi chicken sandwich (sans cheese), which consisted of very mildly spicy grilled chicken with a white sauce in a grinder roll, topped with lettuce and tomato ($6). Overall, the sandwich was decent, with a definite South Asian masala flavor, though still a bit bland.
The business is still undergoing a transition, and this reviewer will visit again sometime soon. Definitely a deli worth exploring. 4/5 stars for quality, 4/5 stars for value. Posted on October 27, 2014
