Café Mamtaz |

87 L Street, Boston, MA 02127
Cafe Mamtaz serves authentic gourmet Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi cuisine offering takeout, delivery and catering only. We may be new in South Boston, but we bring decades of experience in the restaurant industry from top Boston restaurants. Our menu is complete and includes tikka masala, gosht vindaloo, shahi pulau, mulligatawny soup, Indian salad and tandoori dishes. All of our tandoori specials are marinated in our homemade yogurt and house special sauce for 12 hours. It is then slow cooked on skewers in a clay tandoor oven. During cooking, the fat drips away but the juices remain. The result is lean cooking that still retains a rich flavor! All dishes are then served with naan (bread) that is pan-baked in the tandoori oven when ordered. Open daily, 11:00am - 3:00pm and 5:00pm - 10:00pm. ★☆☆☆☆ We visited this place 4/15/15 at 4:00 pm. When we arrive there the guy said that they are closed since it is 5 pm ? We asked whether there is any halal restaurant around and he said no. He was rude and not helpful at al. I have no idea about the food but make sure that it is open before you go there. Posted on April 15, 2015 |

★★★★★ If there were Oscars for Indian Food, these guys would win the Chicken Tikka Masala category!
Great food and great service.
Parking is a nightmare. Best way is to take Bus #10 from Broadway Station.
There is no seating, carry out and delivery only, although one or two people might get squeezed in if necessary. Posted on March 2, 2014 |

★★★★★ Excellent Indian food. Had the chicken biryani & murg vindaloo. First Indian place in Boston that served hot & flavorful food. The portion size is worth the price. Really enjoyed the popadum & chutney selections. Highly recommended for take out. Posted on April 26, 2013 |

★★★★★ I've ordered the Murg tikka masala, Chicken Biryani, & a nan.
Wow! best Indian food in Boston so far.
The sauce were lightly spicy (which I asked for). it wasn't overly powering and I could easily taste the delicate blend of spices and flavors.
The owner (i guess) was super nice he gave me some papadum to try while i was waiting for my order :)
The only disadvantage to this place, it's a take-out only. Posted on January 6, 2011 |

★★★★☆ I only tried the dessert here. It was very good. I wish they delivered to the financial district. I will go back and try their lunch or dinner items. Posted on October 24, 2010 |

★★★★★ I was so thrilled that an Indian place opened up in South Boston. I was even more thrilled that the food was great and the price was cheap. I have been to India many times and the food was on par with anything I got while over there but not as spicy. I'll have to have them add more spice next time. They will make any of their dishes spicy, medium, or mild. They also only do take out. People there were very friendly and happy to see us. I'll be doing my part to ensure they make it.
