★★★★★ I have lived in the DMV area for a long time and I mostly get my meat from here. (Occasionally other things too like spices, nan, Pakistani desserts, snacks etc.) If you are in the DC area and are looking for hand slaughtered zabihah meat, you have only two options that are really trustworthy: this place and simplynaturalhalal.com. And this is hands down the best. The brother (Akhtar) is so pious and nice to all customers, and he cleans your meat really well. Simply Natural is better packed and they give home delivery, but 1. they are sloppy in cleaning the meat, 2. their meat is always bloody, and 2. it's also more expensive. Akhtar has none of that and he does not rip you off. He has quality meat and faces an inelastic demand, and I'm sure he could easily charge 2-3 times of what he does without losing any sales. But he doesn't. I know I'm going on and on about him but just talk to him a few times and you'll see what I mean. Posted on May 8, 2014 |

★★★★★ We go there mainly for our meet and chicken. Sometimes we find middle eastern frozen food or get some spices. The brother is so pious and respectable. They have Sabrina chicken. Usually we order by phone for a Peter pickup. The store could use some improvements though Posted on September 3, 2012 |

★★★★☆ This store is great for meat. For a small store it has a lot of variety, and doesn't charge extra for skinning and cutting. Dry goods are plentiful, but they seldom have veggies, so get your tomatoes, onions and chilies elsewhere. I love that all of the meat is guaranteed hand-slaughtered, which the brother/owner has confirmed to me.
Amendment: since the time of my first review, I have found that Kashmir Bazaar has begun to carry some vegetables. I have noticed reasonably priced fresh tomatoes, potatoes and onions. Posted on March 2, 2012 |

★★★★★ Pretty small shop, but has a lot of the groceries you'd need. Has spices, vegetables and frozen items and of course fresh halal meat which is of good quality. Posted on September 16, 2009 |

★★★★★ I just visited this place on 09/02/2006. Alhamdulillah, the place is very clean; much cleaner than you usually see in halal stores. The owner is very helpful, friendly, and humble. He's been in halal meat business for more than 20 years. The quality of the meat he offers is really good: it's fresh and stored in a clean place. I like the selection he offers: ribs, roasts, custom cuts--including beef, lamb, goat, and chicken. After checking out a few other places, I think this store will be my choice for its cleanliness, freshness, and quality. Posted on September 2, 2006 |

★★★★★ I visited this market for the first time with my family yesterday and the brother that owns and operates it is very kind, humble and caters to his customers. He just opened the store on 7/15/06 and I think he is anticipating more items to be shipped to him so he can provide more gift items but I found everything I needed while I was there-items I have not been able to find at other markets. We tried the meat we bought for dinner and it was excellent quality, very fresh and clean, as was the condition of the store. For the longest time, we would have to drive all the way to Rockville for that kind of cleanliness and service, but now Alhamdullilah this place is much closer and I am happy with what I've seen. I would definitely return again and again, insha'Allah. May Allah increase him in his business, Ameen! Posted on July 19, 2006 |
