★★★★★ This is by far the best restaurant in town! Customer service was very nice, even though at times it does look under staffed. I always get the Qabuli plow, mantoo, eggplant, chicken kabab, and the famous bulani - everything is absolutely amazing. The location is pretty well populated by Muslims, and also near the Microsoft campus. I have brought non Muslim friends here, as well as family, and everyone raves about the food. Also, I don't think there is any other comparable afghan place. Sad thing is that the restaurant is quite small, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a wait on the weekends. I highly recommend everyone to check it out! Posted on September 11, 2016 |

★★★★★ The best food in town.
This is one place where we devour the food and not a single bite is left in the plate.
Lamb shank melts in mouth and so are their kababs.
A must try. Posted on August 13, 2016 |

★★☆☆☆ I have been there once and my experience was not as expected. I was deceived by almost 5 start reviews on yelp and other sites. We tried Qabuli Palow, Chicken Kabobs, Naan and Mantoo.
GOOD THINGS: The lamb shank in Qabuli Palow was nice and tender, rice were cooked well (though it was not like Kabuli palow at all). Chicken kabobs were good and tasty as well.
BAD THINGS: You would expect an Afghan restaurant to have Afghani Naan. They don’t have that. They say it is a “Faarsi/Persian Bread”. However, it was nothing but ordinary Indian tandoori Nan. The worst part is that it was not freshly made (they don’t even make it themselves). When I complained about that one of the servers said it was freshly made (a lie), few minutes later a second server came to find out if we like the food or not and I complained about Naans and He admits that they don’t make the Naans but they get it from somewhere else. To me, it seems like a frozen indian tandoori nan you can find in any indian grocery store.
The second dish we ordered is one of their specials called “Mantoo” which was NOT a good one. Taste and presentation was really odd.
CUSTOMER SERVICE was horrible. The guy there was very rude; when I complained about food he said that he don’t want to argue with me and suggested that I should go online and write a bad review for them (yes he did that). He mentioned that he has “millions” 5 start reviews and my one bad review would not make a difference.
PRICE: it was very expensive. Servings were not enough and we ended up paying $45 for two people. It was at least $10 more than what I would expect for a dinner of two people.
I would like them to succeed and hence I would suggest that they should change their attitude and make fresh food rather than servicing the frozen ones. More than that, they should learn how to talk to customers especially when the feedback is not favorable.
I personally would not recommend this to anyone. Posted on August 25, 2013 |
