★★★★ I just went here yesterday for the first time. I checked the Zabihah site before buying my Groupon deal and I was happy with my meal there. However, they did have an alcohol menu even though this website says they are "alcohol-free". Posted on December 23, 2014
★★★★ This is a full service halal Indian restaurant with real cloth napkins located in Astoria/Long Island City. The restaurant serves typical Indian food, including several vegetarian appetizers and entrees. Though the restaurant proudly proclaims itself halal, this is called into question by its serving alcohol. Parking is available on the street, though given the traffic on 30th Ave you should leave the Jaguar XKE at home.
The chicken biryani, served with raita ($12) was a cut above most generic Indian biryani, though the heat was turned up too high, obscuring the other flavors. You still wouldn't mistake it for homemade. The chai ($3) was overcooked as it was overpriced.
A decent choice for lunch or dinner, though not a stand-out choice. Overall 4/5 stars for quality and 3/5 stars for value. Posted on November 6, 2014
