I have been keen on trying Palestinian food for my trip back to Hà Nội during Tết, so my friend and I settled on Oliva's Palestinian food and we were so glad we did. For starter, the owner, which I believed his name was Saleem had to become our waiter for the night since it's just fresh off the holiday and some employees are not back yet. The man was super friendly, spoke great Vietnamese and was very cheerful. For the food, we ordered the tea cup, hummus with minced beef, maqluba and one other dish I couldn't remember the name or find it in the online menu. My friend used the word "nhà" to describe the food and I could attest to that. I walked in here not knowing what to expect and I left without knowing what to feel. The food was genuinely a spiritual experience, so good that I am upset it's going to end. Thus explaining why I sat there with my half finish rice for 15 minutes. I felt so much emotions during my time dining here, I was speechless at the food, the hummus, the maqluba. I tend to write a lot in my review but for this one you just have to come and see it yourself how great this place is. Although if I were to provide some feedback I would say the chicken in the maqluba was quite underwhelming compared to the rice (eg dry and underseasoned). At the end of the meal my friend insisted on giving the owner, Saleem, a "lì xì" and he showed so much appreciation and class towards us even putting the tea on the house. It's just overwhelmingly phenomenal experience, and yes I will be back soon. Love to Palestine, Palestinian food for the win 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
