On Monday morning, I visited the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) and stopped by this stall to order a Thai Green Milk Tea. The cashier clearly called out “one Thai Green Milk Tea” to the staff preparing the drinks, but they still made a regular Thai Milk Tea instead. I had to wait for my drink to be remade, which wasted my time. I also noticed one of the staff trying to communicate with another customer in Chinese only. The customer clearly could not understand Chinese, and they struggled to communicate for quite some time until the cashier stepped in to help. I hope the management can improve the accuracy of order preparation and the staff’s communication skills, especially their ability to communicate in English and to confirm customers’ orders properly. This stall is located inside a hospital where patients and visitors come from different countries and backgrounds, and not everyone speaks Chinese. Having basic English communication skills and ensuring orders are confirmed correctly should be the minimum service standard in such an environment.
